Adored my stay, hotel is beautiful and staff were welcoming and helpful.nI look forward to staying again to fully enjoy the facilities and local cafes.nRoof top pool is lovely, large enough to fit multiple families as well as singles with room. Parking is limited but staff are wonderful, giving directions to take any parking anxiety away. Room was absolutely beautiful, I never wanted to leave.
Went to Melbourne for a sad occasion, but the team at The Chen made it so much better. Easy and fast check-in, lots of advice for places to eat, places to park very well mapped and signed.nThe Room i had was amazing, we had the dual key room. clean, plenty of storage, comfortable bed.nBathrooms perfectly maintained and stocked with everything i need.nPool was a wonderful addition, the roof top viewing area was magical at night.nWould stay there again if i go back again
Checking in was a little bit of a pain as signage wasn't very clear on where to go or what to do. A sign in the street before the lane way and some instructions at the carport gate to check in would make it a bit easier to navigate during busy traffic periods. Hotel staff were excellent at explaining to us how to get there and were great to deal with throughout our stay.nOur room was great, spacious and clean.nLittle bit further out from the city but we had no issues with the nearby options for public transport, some great food options nearby too!nOverall we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to hopefully returning in the future.
I've stayed three times at The Chen and found it good each time. The 109 to the city is right on the doorstep, with a huge mall and the train station only five minutes away on foot. Cafes nearby are awesome. Each room I've been in had good floor space, a comfy bed and a functional kitchenette. My only complaint is that two of the three rooms didn't have an opening window the other had a balcony and large door to open. Whilst cooking in a tight space, this becomes a bit of an issue - I accidentally set off a smoke alarm while frying bacon and eggs, and staff rushed to bang down my door. Any sort of functional fan or a cracked window could prevent this.nnThat aside, I've had no other problems. No complaints about cleanliness, it's always fine. But yes, as others have said, the situation with parking is atrocious. Overall, I do recommend this hotel and would stay again.
Booked online at the last minute, after 2pm on day of stay for a quick one night stay. Great checkin, great room with welcome gift and handwritten note gosh, when did they have time to do that, and very affordable parking with lift access to room level. No restaurant or breakfast spot, so no discounts, but good selection of food nearby, we went to BBQ K, which was great. Would definitely stay again.
