It’s been a while since I last stayed at The Chen in Box Hill, VIC, so I was really glad when work lined up for me to stay there again. The location is spot on for meetings across Melbourne, and it made everything incredibly convenient.nnI’m from South West Sydney and always say we’re blessed with some of the best food in the world thanks to our strong migrant culture — especially from South East Asia. But Box Hill genuinely impressed me. The variety of Chinese, Korean and Japanese cuisine within easy walking distance of the hotel was amazing. If you’re a food lover, this location alone is a huge plus.nnThe rooms are very comfortable and clean, with a modern feel that makes it easy to unwind after a long day. The only thing worth noting is that the hot water runs extremely hot and can be quite sensitive to adjust. It’s a bit fidgety trying to find the right temperature for a shower or even washing your hands, as it can suddenly turn boiling hot. Just something to be mindful of.nnA big thank you to the front-of-house team for the warm welcome. The lobby has a great vibe, highlighted by the signature Chen calligraphy artwork, which gives the hotel a unique character. Sue in particular provided excellent customer service and was lovely to chat with about our experiences staying at Accor hotels around the world.nnOverall, I would highly recommend The Chen. Great location, comfortable rooms, fantastic food options nearby, and friendly staff — it ticks all the boxes.
Such a lovely experience staying at The Chen! The whole team made our stay feel easy, stress-free, and genuinely enjoyable from beginning to end.nnThe hotel itself was beautiful, well-maintained, and very comfortable. We were staying as part of a big group, and the staff were incredibly patient, organised, and always happy to help with whatever we needed.nnOne thing we really appreciated was their kindness after we checked out. We accidentally left some items behind, and the staff were so helpful in keeping them safe for us and arranging a pickup at a later time.nnThe location was also perfect with everything nearby, especially public transport and Box Hill Central.nnMassive thanks to Hazel and the rest of the staff for the warm hospitality. Would definitely stay here again!
Great spot for a short stay in busy Box Hill! Perfect location for a quick run around Box Hill Gardens, with a great local playground, lots of shops, and plenty of food options. If you love Asian culture and food, this area to stay. Only downfall is parking but great if you like to walk around
The people in the reception are very nice, friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, bed was very comfy. Location is fantastic - just across the shopping mall. We really enjoyed our stay. The only concern we had was parking. We were only able to park at the hotel carpark the next morning as it was full on our first night. Other than that, we had an amazing time. highly recommend!
Beautiful building with attractive art. Service was speedy and efficient. The location worked well as I was working across the road. The room was very comfortable with a king size bed. I slept well. Cute little pod coffee machine. The carpet had a few stains and the tapware was chipping, so could do with a bit of a spruce up to get it back to perfect hence my 4 stars. It is a shame people don’t respect things.
