The Chen in Box Hill, Melbourne is a great facility. The staff are polite and helpful. They also have good accessibility for wheelchair users as my wife uses a wheelchair. Great restaurants in the surrounding streets as well as a 30 min train ride to Melbourne CBD.

Like the other Art Series hotels we have stayed at The Chen Hotel is tastefully appointed with contemporary art. The suite we stayed in was beautifully appointed, the location central and the staff friendly and helpful. A particular highlight was watching the sunset from the rooftop pool.

I found the room to be good value for money, clean, modern design & nicely decorated. The front desk service were polite & friendly. Personally though i found the bed to be way too soft, i have a bad back & woke up stiff. I know everyone has their personal preference, i don't like hard beds either but this was soft to the point that getting into it properly so i didn't fall out the side, was difficult as it was also quite high up, I'm 170cm so not short! I think it might have been one of those pillow top mattresses or a mattress topper of some sort. I don't know if ALL the beds are the same but i certainly could not sleep on one again if they are so it was a major turn off for me returning. Second problem was the lifts were a bit dodgy, i had to swipe my pass &/or press the floor buttons several times to get them to work. One even had material down the side like it wasn't finished being constructed properly? i know the hotel only opened in Nov but those should be done properly before hand. I don't like heights so it was even more nerve wracking for me using the lifts! And thirdly, there is poor design in that there is no proper drop off/pick up point in the street outside the entrance. Cars have to stop literally on the street which already has fairly narrow lanes, so expect to get beeped at! On the plus side, you get free onsite parking, but you need to get a pass from the front desk first to access, which is problematic since there's no driveway to park temporarily while you collect the pass.

Impeccablly divine space. The only hotel group you will ever want. Faultless in all areas. Always long to come back and we regularly do. Book online and come for a peaceful weekend. You'll be so thankful you did.
