If you respect yourself you won’t go to this restaurant. On Sunday 7 June 2015 the waiter was so rude and disrespectful towards me. I ordered my favorite dish without the bacon, but she would not do it, she told me to select from the side dishes and I ended up with a bunch of unappealing sides in a plate. I asked if I could have my tea with my meal she was so aggressive in telling me that cannot be done at the same time. Wow she had an attitude she was acting as if she was doing me a favor for taking my order IT WAS SAD. Chelsea you won’t see me again in your restaurant. Your staff could use some much needed customer service training.
On a chilly Saturday evening, due to the bookings taking place soon, I was offered a seat outside, right next to the gas heater to keep me and my girlfriend warm. The heater was there even though the management has cancelled the gas supply, which I found out about after asking a waitress to turn it on. After confronting the manager about it I was told that they did not have time to roll the heaters back inside I presume they had enough time to roll them out knowing full well they could not possibly turn them on, unlike all the other restaurants around them and after mentioning that in Melbourne it is a common practice to offer a complimentary glass of wine to make up for any inconvenience of this sort or being lied to in this case again I was informed in a 'I really don't care, go away' fashion that "we don't do it here, sorry". Food itself was decent, but meat was not spiced properly I had a Lamb shank and lacked flavor.Service was shocking. Will not go back there.
They keep old food and still charge high prices for it. Had a chia pudding and the colour from the fruit had gone and had coloured the yogurt. It had been sitting there for some time. If you charge excessive prices the food at the very least should be fresh. Serving sizes are also small. Nothing you couldn't make.at home yourself.
Third time we've visited Brisbane and had breakfast at The Chelsea Bistro. Can't fault their service or food; had the Chai porridge first visit and the poached eggs, potato hash, bacon and carrot jam the next two. Fantastic, keep up the good work guys!
I have a nice 2 courses meal for lunch on 1 July. Staff, the chef and the owner were really nice. Crispy calamari and home sliced ciabatta with homemade dips was nice start. Form main we had Smoked salmon with beetroot and quinoa salad: was delicate and devine as it looks! Grilled chicken and chorizos on pearl barley and feta&kale salad was supreme with its strong character and flavour!
I’ve only ever used the internet for positive reviews. However The Chelsea customer service I received last week Dec 2013 was so bad that I am compelled to write this review. I have had a couple of prior experiences – good food although overpriced and welcoming staff. However last week was my first dealing with the male ‘Manager’ as he told me with an accent unsure of his name. I’ve read up on the Chelsea reviews since then and there are MANY similar stories about this manager. Firstly guests turned up before me after booking the day before, and once seeing they had prams were told firstly there was no booking, then it was admitted that there was one but they were not allowed inside in the air conditioning as I had specifically requested. When I arrived they were unhappy with the rudeness and when I questioned I was told ‘this is your fault, you didn’t advise me there were prams. We are no room and other people have been booked in for months’. Now I don’t have children but I’ve many friends with children and I have NEVER came across this rule before., nad have been to many places with prams before. There was no mention of this to me on the phone when I booked. Most places like to accommodate people with children. If the manger was apologetic about the lack of room, rather than being arrogant and rude we would have understand and stayed. However he was so impolite we left – after him speaking terribly to me in front of other customers and arguing with and saying in front of customers ‘you are not welcome here’ mind you this was after I said I wasn’t returning. I personally will never go back to this restaurant. I’m unsure how they are still doing business with the amount of bad reviews. I have worked in customer service, and have had family run restaurants. I know how hard it can be, and dealing with difficult customers – therefore I am loyal to good service and generally forgiving. All that was needed in this situation was politeness. Please give back to the cafes, restaurants and bars that work so hard to give us good service wherever we can, rather than a place like this.
Service was completely ineffectual. I don't know if the staff had been to a restaurant before, much less worked in one! Food is good but stingy portions.
Brilliant place to wine and dine, very friendly, great food and coffee and great service
Can I give it no stars? Poorly prepared food and staff that were rather uninterested.
$8.50 for an Affogato! You have to be joking!!!
