"Devonport's suprise package. Inside this corner pub lies two very fashionable spots. The Central restaurant offers award winning dining experience, with a wonderful array of modern Australian dining, as well as our pub favourites to please all. The Central bar is an eclectic space to take in a couple of drinks, or later some entertainment and watch the Spirit of Tasmania turn in the Mersey."

The pasta is delicious, the steak is average, the pizza skin is thick, but overall good, the table is beautiful, the location is spacious
Friendly greeting on arrival, main meal was amazing. Had to ask for sweets menu and then had to ask for service so we could order. Dessert was really disappointing, tasty but did not match the menu and had ingredients missing.Food: 4/5
Lovely views toward the Mersey River. Usually fast and friendly service. Very nice food. Sometimes salty, but overall a very consistently tasty menu. Unfortunately this time even though we booked and were early we were placed out in the spare room with huge windows wide open on a hot day listening to traffic go by and a toddler screaming on and off for an hour. 5.30 ready to order and waited for a table of 16 next to us to order first. A little disappointing this time round. Considering many free tables in main area. Anything but relaxing.
Food is great here. Lots of seating but due to popularity you will need to book.Food: 4/5
So it was our first time going to this place, as we were both hungry and were looking forward to a good feed. We both read the sign out the front “Lunch from 12 and dinner from 5pm”. As we went into the foyer, we were approached by the manager of the restaurant, who asked us if we had a booking, and thought with out asking that we were there for the accommodation. We said that we are there for lunch, when she said that lunch was from 12 to 2, but we got there about 4pm. The least they could do was give us toasties, which was nice, but the service and lack of communication, especially when she under stipulated that we knew the lunch times, and didn’t even know that there was a sign out the front. We won’t be going back.
Great place! Had lunch today. Very welcoming and friendly place! we got seated right away, meals were nice although we had a little wait no big deal, in fairness they were pretty busy and maybe under staffed. The 2 young waiters didn't get names A+ to both of you, they didn't stop the whole time we spent there, they did a fantastic job. Nice meal and friendly! Would recommend!
Great place to eat. Staff all went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. Crystal and Angie looked after us and were in our opinion, exemplary. Would highly recommend.
We had the unpleasant experience of dining at one of the most over-rated pub restaurants in Devonport. It is in a great location on the port. Once inside, we were one of the first tables to be seated at 6pm. Window table, as requested. We waited 1 hour and 50mins for all food to arrive! There is no doubt that in this establishment on this particular night the kitchen staff weren't on their best game, and the wait staff were happy to have a relaxed chat with each other rather than clear an increasing number of emptying, dirty tables than serve bar customers and actually carry out their job description. The service is the sort that one would expect from a fast food chain, but without its speed and simplicity. It seemed like a competition between wait staff as to who could take the longest time in ignoring unattended, used tables and noticing customer's needs. After having endured all this, the thought of enjoying a good meal seemed to us impossible, this is when things turned really interesting. The entrees arrived, then 45mins later the kids meals arrived. What was presented to us was a couple of huge $14 kids meals, then followed at least 30mins later by a tiny lamb salad.....with a 1cm cube of lamb, and the dish was a third of the size of the kids meal....at $38!! At this point we returned the lamb salad and asked where the meat was. At this time, we had enough of the torture and paid for our order, minus the lamb dish. I won´t comment on the price because whoever pays to be taken for a fool deserves to be one. Never again will I spend my money at this group of businesses in the area. Such an awful experience for what we thought was a high quality establishment. Staff were friendly but helpless, using lots of 'run of the mill' hospitality excuses. Food was OVERPRICED!! Do yourself a favour, cook at home.
Excellent customer service by both Angie and Chrystal !! Was a lovely dining experience and best service we have received on our visit to Tasmania! Highly recommended Central Bar and Restaurant. Will be back next visit
Fast service. Wide variety of meals. Portion sizes good. Slightly more expensive than other places but worth it. The bacon pizette is delicious.Food: 4/5
