Very convenient parking lot, unfortunately it can get hard to find a park in peak hours. Parking spots can be tight if you end up beside an imported Yank Tank Truck
Man it's a scummy old concrete carpark and the turns are too tight for old people to navigate and I wouldn't be a pedestrian in there if I were you. Towballs sticking out and big yank tank utes that don't fit in the spaces... It's nice to drive thru and reminisce when life was good and you had P plates and parking in Hobart didn't require a second mortgage to cover the cost and huge SUV cars and brainless twits weren't clogging everything for no good reason but other than that it's an absolute nightmare nobody should have to deal with in this second world country.
Very convenient Carpark in the centre of Hobart. Reasonable price to park your car for several hours.
I prefer Centrepoint to park in more than Argyle Street. It’s less gloomy and the lifts are cleaner as are the toilets. You can get a meal underneath or a coffee, and it’s closer to the part of the city I mostly use. As a pensioner I can get weekly tickets for all City Car Parks owned by the Hobart City Council that give me 4 hours of free parking. You just take your pension card and car registration into the HCC along with your car registration and you can get 52 tickets for the year. They’re issued for the financial year. When you use your ticket though, you must validate it with the attendant at the desk in each car park as the automated ticket machine will charge full rates.nnAll car park users get the first 90 minutes free. I didn’t need to validate my ticket under that time, but it’s a good idea to anyway. I’d hate to hold up cars in a line. nWe need to support our local businesses to keep them going or we shall lose even more stores than we already have. Try to shop local rather than online. - most people still want to try things on - especially shoes and clothes.
It may be convenient, but make sure you get back well before closing time. If a sign says shut at 5:15, I should be able to get to my car at 5pm. To get my car out I had to call to get somebody to let me in/out. To top it off, they would only accept cash for this privilege, so in the torrential rain I was expected to find an eftpos machine because the HCC are so backward and stupid doing Tassie proud here crew to realise that there have been mobile card payment options available for many a year now. I opted for an uber home instead. The bill for the Uber ride is in the mail Hobart.
