Great selection of beer and non beer beverages. Knowledgeable service from staff, they actually know about their products. Vibe is very much like a dive bar. Best seat is at the bar next to Muddy the catfish who lives in a TV fish tank. Sparrows is good but starting to get on the pricey side. Tap beer rotation is quite good, you’ll always find a new beer here. Internet/phone network connection is horrible, like a black hole. If you need to do something on your phone sit outside back outside is smoking only, no food or near the window.
Nice place with plenty of inside and outside seating. Staff friendly and food came quickly and were well presented. They were also fresh and very tasty. Good selection of meals and drinks but chose a VB beer as when in Melbourne try the local stuff. No rush from staff and bill was very good value
What a wonderful little find. Quirky little bar with Boutique beers and other drinks. And a thriving signature Cheese Steak Bread Roll kitchen. Hint, watch out for the catfish in the TV.
Hell yes. I think I've found one of my fav places on Gertrude. Don't get me wrong there are some brilliant places on Gertrude catering for a wide range of budgets. For quick and easy, this place is the one to go to. Their Philli cheesesteaks bourbon bacon and Hoagie, some of the best Alabama white wings and a beer to wash it all down. All excellent and tasty. Service was quick. Also a good range of awesome hot sauces we tried harbenero & mango, smoked jalepeno available near the kitchen. Scan the QR code, make an order, pay and wait for an SMS to pick up your grub from the kitchen at the back past the bar. Easy. Drinks at the bar. Highly recommended!
Always a welcoming vibe and very good beer choices for when I’m in Melbourne. Great Philly cheesesteak menu from the kitchen too.
Passed off a Hazy IPA as a Seltzer. If you come here for a Cheesesteak, skip the bar unless you're into being jerked around!
Go to spot for great beers and my version of soul food. Taps change constantly so there is always something new to try. Couldn't recommend the Tuesday night Comedy any more, its fantastic year round and such a good deal.
Good local tap list, huge spirits selection. Sparrows Philly Cheese Steaks there were fast and tasty. All prices about what you’d expect. Staff were friendly and efficient. Will be back!
Sign out the front says 18+ only after 8pm, but my 17 year old mates weren't allowed in at 7pm purely because of their age, they're weren't acting up or anything. There's no mention of refusing minors into the restaurant anywhere online, they weren't even allowed to eat out the front. They're obviously in the legal right to do this, but at least communicate it next time, and don't go against your owns rules. Appalling behaviour.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a very chill atmosphere downstairs. The upstairs bandroom was great for intimate performances and we were able to buy drinks in both areas. It wasn't difficult to get seats in either area and the toilets were quite clean.
