The Cat bird seat

A brand new cafe in the commercial area of Cheltenham. A really nice place to hang out especially one those days where your date is a good book. Lots of natural light. Coffee is so so. And food is good but not exceptional. Considering they've just started, am sure they will only get better in time. 4bucks for regular coffee? Owners need to up their game. One more thing, I've seen two other tables being served this awesome looking burger. I'll come back for that.

Nice big space. Bright and light. But that's it. I always try a place at least twice, in case a poor experience was the result of just a bad day. But if a few things don't change, my second visit will be my last. It's only coffee at the moment, which is cool. Food is coming, I've heard. But the coffee is coming out unbelievably slowly. Like SLOW. Only one of the four staff have smiled, the music is too soft, there is no chatter or vibe amongst the staff, no urgency, very little communication with customers about the extensive wait. Nobody really knows their role/s. The barista doesn't look up at all, except to hand over the takeaways. Having said all that, I think the staff are trying, but are just a bit lost. Based on customer numbers for the weekend, this place is going to PUMP on the weekends. They NEED someone to be a BOSS behind the counter, someone that will come out from behind there and get amongst the customers. For that to happen, they need the barista to ENGAGE with everyone and take charge of the coffee. Good luck!!
