Story

The Capital is one of Bendigo's spectacular & iconic landmarks. We present many beautiful shows in our intimate theatre, ranging from contemporary and traditional, to everything in between!

Whatever your age - or taste! - The Capital has an exciting and diverse program of events, that will appeal to everyone. We also manage and operate a range of different venues in the building, and around Bendigo.

I went to the office to buy tickets for a show. The woman who served me was polite, knowledgeable and helpful. She was on the phone with another customer when I got there, but she acknowledged me and that makes all the difference, so I didn't mind waiting my turn.

Beautiful, classic, older-style theatre/music venue in the centre of Bendigo's arts district.

Historic building with an imposing facade, the capital is a great spot for concerts, right in the heart of city.  Friendly and attentive staff, good facilities and a great range of performances on offer.

The Capital is perfect for mid sized shows and I've enjoyed many here over the years. Martha Wainwright, The Spooky Men's Chorale, Michael Franti, Doug Anthony All Stars... ALL have been fun and engaging shows helped by the Theatre's great acoustics and friendly staff. Close to great dining but could do to have a better salty snack selection!
