The hotel is beautiful, and I personally loved the design of the room and bathroom, as well as the amenities Dyson hair dryer, beautiful linen robes and slippers etc. The bed is huge and comfortable. The design, cleanliness and central location make up for the disappointing service. The check-in staff were nice, but beyond that there is absolutely no warmth or grace to the service that one would normally expect for 700$/night. I’ve stayed at many five star hotels, and the service here is laughable in comparison. For starters, they are very picky about the poolside use, which for many visitors is the main draw of staying at the hotel. We felt we had to grovel to stay at the pool an extra hour. This really should not have been a big deal. Most other 5* hotels would have accommodated this with grace. Many of the frills you receive at other 5*s eg welcome drink or a token for special occasions were absent. What’s missing, really, is basic hospitality.nnShould also mention that the breakfast at Hellenika is very average - do not recommend at all.nnStill, I’ll probably be back because it is gorgeous and has a unique character that I found fascinating.
The overall experience was amazing, the staff were friendly and wonderful. My only issue is that the kids at the pool could be a bit unruly. I am all about family, but my partner and I ordered champagne bottle service and meals, and we were splashed and kicked on by the kids in the pool, without parental intervention.
A bit of a subpar experience given the hotel is meant to be in the top hotels of the world. We visited for our honeymoon and had high expectations given what we have heard. The service was not bad but it was not personalised and felt quite transactional. Staff didn’t even ask how our stay was when checking out. Check in was also rushed and was completed in 2 minutes. She tapped my card and gave us the keys stating you are on level 4. No explanation of hotel facilities or even what room we were in. We stayed in a king room and the finishes were very underwhelming. The travertine tiles were laminate and not the real stone compared to the communal areas of the hotel. We had a few issues that occurred during our stay which was quite an annoyance. Whilst we were ironing in the room the iron tripped the power and we had to wait 20 minutes for the power to come back which meant we missed our pre dinner drink booking. We were given a late check out but despite this we had the do not disturb on the door and house keeping knocked repeatedly and asked why we were still in the room which we then had to explain we had late check out. The highlight of the hotel is definitely the pool area and the quality of the food. Along with some great restaurants that surround the hotel. The only let down there was that I had ordered an almond latte at the pool and was given the wrong order of a latte with normal milk which isn’t great and I had to send it back to be remade. Overall it was an okay stay but I’ve definitely had more luxurious experiences at other hotels.
We are in love with this hotel. We regretted leaving this beautiful place and going to the Gold Coast. The best service in the hotel. They gave us 4 bottles of water in absolutely beautiful reusable bottles when we checked out. Have you ever seen that?! Usually they give you water when you check in. But these guys are beyond praise, they take care of you even when you leave them. It's awesome. Definitely in Brisbane this is our favorite hotel now
Had an amazing stay at the Calile Hotel! My bestie booked a room for our birthday celebration, and we had such a great time. The staff were super friendly and made us feel really welcome. We even got a complimentary cocktail for our birthday, which was a nice surprise! The whole place is gorgeous, and the experience was just perfect. Definitely want to go back!
