We had our work Christmas function yesterday and it was a great time at The Boo. Food was good burger and bowls package, staff were friendly and we had a wonderful time playing lawn bowls. It was a scorcher of a day but the undercover area with fans was pleasant enough to sit, a little more shade around the bowling area would have been good but sunscreen was available and plenty of water to help yourself to stay hydrated. The bowls Information sheets and suggestions were very helpful too and allowed me to slightly adapt my own to run a round robin competition among ourselves.
Came here for a work function. Pretty happy with the food. There were 3 choices for protein - steak, chicken Maryland and fish. I opted for the chicken and was surprised how juicy and tender it was. The chips were perfectly golden fried too
Great place for a family friendly day. It would probably even work, as a "first date." Though there's not a lot on the menu. What is there was very well cooked and worth it. Good selection and variety of beers on tap. The place has a good relaxed atmosphere.
Great food and variety of drinks on tap. Great atmosphere and the staff there give a good run down on how to bowl properly. Place is tidy and great place to hold work functions. Not too far from the valley either so can kick on at bowls and hit the clubs after!
We have done barefoot bowls before and they have been awesome... nothing like this. The greens were completely full of holes and so uneven ... As a social experience also a fail the cost of drinks was ridiculous. A light beer and cider over $21. Won't be returning.

My family and I had the pleasure of enjoying Father's Day at the Booroodabin Bowls Club, this place is affectionately known as The Boo. This Lawn Bowls club was established back in 1888 & has honor boards that show many champion bowlers from the past. This family friendly place is well known for its Barefoot Bowls & booking in advance is advisable due to the popularity of this social activity. Many thousands of people on a yearly basis enjoy a social outing here at The Boo. The staff at The Boo go the extra mile to ensure everything is provided to enjoy a game of Barefoot Bowls. The menu at The Boo caters for everyone including people who have special needs & there is a children menu included. The friendly bar staff ensure you are well looked after with a great range of wines, spirits & assorted beers, either on tap or by stubbies as required. The Boo is well set up to ensure strict Covid-19 restrictions are in place. Toilets are onsite & limited onsite parking is available for everyone including disabling parking. Brisbane City Council Bus services also run past this place. I believe Bus Stop 11 on Breakfast Creek Road, Newstead is the best drop off point. The Boo also has the capacity to cater for Corporate events, weddings, Bucks & Hens nights & many other social outings. Check out their website for any other matters that The Boo can assist you with. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, drinks & barefoot bowls & will definitely be back in the future.
Beware and please don't go with any expectations of decent food. 1. Horrible and un cooperative italian lady at reception. When asked to see the manger she said she was manager. She clearly looked like waitress. Major attitude problem. Owner please reeducate such employees or be ready to loose business. 2. She refused to serve even a single dish 30 minutes earlier until the event host was called and only then she backed Off. 3. Tried to overcharge by saying veggie pettie costs 20$ which is more cost than the whole burger. Lawn bowling was fun so that was the little relief after such a horrible treatment.
Aiden was amazing. he made my experience at the boo unforgettable. best bartender i’ve had. everyone should go here just to see Aidan. Not only is he good looking but he also provides me the best customer service i have ever received x 10/10!!
Nice food, just wish there was more steak options. Great staff and bowls were fun for the first time.
