A lovely and popular place at Balmoral Beach, perfect for coffee, brunch, lunch or a snack. The decor and setting makes you feel like you’re in holiday at a peaceful seaside resort, with views over the inlet and pier. We enjoyed our fish and chips and burger, combined with juices not made on-site but branded as “fresh” and great coffee. This is a highly sought-after place, so be prepared to come either a bit early to secure your place, or expect a wait to be seated. Wonderful place.
Waited for more than one hour for a table on Sunday afternoon, this place is so popular. A little bit pricey compared to other brunch restaurants. Coffee is not quite satisfied, both two espressos in iced latte are over-extraction, taste bitter and astringent. Cold drip is dry and hollow. Please enhance the coffee quality. Food is really great, beef patty is juicy, fish is tender and fresh.
This place is my new favourite place! The atmosphere is amazing. Awesome view and great service. The food quality is so good Having your Saturday breakfast here is going to make your weekend. We shared an average toast with tomatoes with some extra. I ordered a tea pot no tea bags just a real quality tea. Amazing!
Wonderful venue, great atmosphere, location and the staff were super friendly and made for a most enjoyable and special lunch. Lots of table options inside and out. Any over indulgences can be walked off on the beach. Prices are high, but to be expected in such a splendid location where the average house prices are probably over $10M. Hope to try their breakfast menu and a happy-hour cocktail on future visits.
If spectacular views and average food are your thing or you just simply want to go somewhere for photos and don’t care for what you’re eating… this is your place. As above. 1 star for view, one for the cucumber cocktail. That’s about it. The rest of the food was edible but very bland. Better seafood and your corner fish and chip shop just down the road. Staff were attentive though which is worth noting but again, average overpriced food.
Just very disappointed… took my mum for her birthday brunch and told her how great of the boathouse previously. But she said the cap was the worse coffee that she ever had before…. Flat and burn!! Beef burger is dry and tasteless! Ordered a ice coffee with no syrup , and it comes with van syrup….. staff served people like “ don’t wanna be here” but chatting and laughing at the bar area…. Very disappointed! I wish the Management should do something about it, I love the location and view as it’s great place for everything! Please….. P.S. give you extra star is from my mum, she love the barramundi.
Beautiful interior design with flowers and greenery everywhere! Very nice tables with comfortable chairs, we sat on a communal table and it was very nice. The views from the platform looking out on the boats on the beach are to die for! We had a variety of breakfast items, all shown in the pictures with the price tags. Everything was very yummy however too much salt in all dishes from the cream on the avo toast to the mashed avo itself. Regardless everyone really enjoyed the food. We then ordered some coffee and iced chocolate and it was very smooth and fresh with a beautiful taste. The banana bread was sold out before we could get some since its so popular! Everything was so nicely presented and had big and filling portions. Staff were so friendly and very good service. The manager at the time was so nice and very helpful. Prices attached in pictures. A little pricey but definitely worth the $$$. The share plates we got were not cleaned properly and still had egg on them and the cups we grabbed with the water jug had lipstick stains on the rims. Even the toilets had toilet paper all over the floor. However the place itself in general is pretty clean and they do sanitise every single table. Overall, my family and i had a wonderful time celebrating my mom's birthday, it really is an experience in itself. Will definitely be coming back soon!
Such a nice place with amazing vibes.. The staff is very friendly.. The seating arrangements are diverse from stools to benches with indoow and outdoor seating surrounded with the best views. I was there for a business meeting. However, I will be taking my daughters soon
You may have to wait during busy times but I find it goes quickly, food is expensive though you are in Balmoral. The waiters could be more attentive as it was hard getting their attention when they were running all over the place. The fish and chips and beef burger with chutney were delicious, would recommend.
Location is amazing let down by the service, food and prices. Disappointing to see tables cleared so slowly rubbish blows into the harbour or 20 seagulls have a feast. You have a responsibility to the environment!! Menu is now tired having been pretty much the same for many years. When I left there were 6 or so staff hovering near the serving bench. They should have been clearing the tables outside. Service much better at Shelley Beach venue
