Story

For a decade we have handled estates, downsizes, house moves, disposals of collections, rental seizures, liquidations, commercial clearances, small domestic clearouts and the odd good thing found by the roadside.

In that time everything imagineable has passed through our doors. From fridges to featherstone chairs, from skeleton clocks to actual human skeletons (the legal medical student variety) and everything in between.

We are passionate about re-use. Annually tens of thousands of containers of barely serviceable cheap consumables hit our shores. Why live with poorly manufactured cheap imports with an enormous carbon footprint? You can have an equivalent product, that has already proved it will last a lifetime for the same price or less. Solid Timber instead of laminate, Style instead of shiny packaging.

We'll sell you Makita for the price of Ozito & Oak for the price of Rubberwood. If you just want a flat pack fix you'll find it already assembled with Low-Calorie pre used carbon miles to boot!

If you are new to auctions feel free to browse our rooms during viewing hours, or view the online catalogue while you get a feel for the process. Our staff will answer any questions you may have about our systems or stock. If you are new to a field of collecting, or hunting for a new decorator look feel free to pick our brains. We like what we do and we have been doing it for a long time. You'll be amazed at the questions we can answer with a straight face.

Our fortnightly auctions are casual affairs. Full Espresso cafe facilities are in operation on Auction days. If you have the time grab a coffee and watch the circus. We are always happy to see new faces. The only danger is you might become addicted. More than one casual visitor has become part of our regular menagerie.

Remember if you are a little shy about bidding the crowds eyes are on the Auctioneer. He's looking for your bids and will always help you spend your money.

If you've seen it in a chic retro boutique the chances are we saw it first. Some time spent watching our fortnightly offerings may give just you the jump on the trade. Spend some time viewing either in person or online and find that perfect piece at the perfect price.*

Went to pick up an item which I had won at auction and the woman at the front desk was extremely hostile and rude. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from a person that is supposedly in the customer service industry. Initially, I stood there, mouth agape, thinking that it had to be a joke. Nope! Absolutely abhorrent behaviour and I shall not be returning. Do yourself a favour and avoid at all cost. Try Small & Whitfield who always offer wonderful service.

I love this place. Myself and my family have been buying here for years. Everything single staff member is lovely and amazing, honestly they're so speedy and helpful!  I've always had help when i've bought larger things and been unable to move them. They've always happily and willingly offended help unlike another auction houses where i've literally been ignored.

Absolutely poor customer service, insulting,  didn’t take the time to look through any items as “there was nothing valuable” and we were being unrealistic. This came from the owner, who was in and out in 2 minutes. Would never recommend nor purchase from this company. Hindsight, I wish I’d taken the time to read the reviews, would never have contacted this company nor allowed them into our home.

Picked up an item brought online, the female reception woman was fantastic in providing information about the business and making me feel very welcome with a great smile as well, felt welcomed

I visited auction rooms today and as soon as I'm in the door the owner confronted me about the review below, asking how I dare write a review like that showing me a printout of it without speaking to him first before proceeding to call me an underhanded f*wit and a*hole for posting it.  I'd already spoken to his staff, they didn't care, I left after spending over $1,000 that day and never spent a large sum there after this experience.  "Business is about building relationships" he tells me, and that I've just lost this one and told me to leave the premises and spend my money elsewhere.  -----------  As a seller I'd never consider listing here.  As a past never again bidder they make it very hard, if you actually work and have money to spend there's an extremely limited window for viewing and collecting goods. I've had to reconsider placing serious bids because I work normal hours and can't get in to collect goods unlike other auction houses which have after hours viewing and collection.  More about moving as much stuff through as quickly as they can rather than getting the best price for the vendor.  They do get good stuff but they will damage it after you've won it and take no accountability or even apologise.  Bought an armchair which had been shifted from its original position and found it pressed up against a metal H beam, prior to auction the timber was perfect. Big chunk taken out and grey paint from the H beam left behind... Confronted them and they said "there's nothing I can do about it". Awesome, you've damaged my stuff.  Consider your bids wisely the item you take away may be worth considerably less before you actually collect it.

I like this place. They are helpful and efficient. Parking is not great so bring a trolley just in case you have to park far away.

Auctioning products that were 12 years out of date! When asked about this it was not their problem but mine! Apparently there are no quality control measures in place? As due to items not actually being theirs, I needed to check myself as "they don't check every minute detail". I asked how they maintained their brand detail, as it may not be their item but it is their platform? No response. Lost my money on 12 year old products up for auction and it was my fault as I should have checked this minute detail and not relied up the auction house. Good luck if you purchase anything through this auction house. Very poor form!
