The Equine Centre provides first opinion, emergency and referral veterinary services for horses and ponies throughout Western Australia.

Story

The Equine Centre is led by a team of highly qualified equine veterinarians with extensive experience; many of which are recognised specialists in their various fields of expertise. We aim to provide the highest quality veterinary care available to horses ranging from routine investigations to emergency surgery.

Routine consultations are between the hours of 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday. The hospital reception is open between 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday. A hospital based emergency service is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (excluding the Christmas-New Year period).

My elderly dog took a turn for the worse on Sunday and I didn't want to wait overnight to see my regular vet. I think people need to remember that this is probably about the only 24/7 animal hospital in Perth and it can never be as well staffed as a human hospital. You should expect a wait, but having said that, my pet was attended to promptly as well as the other animals there. Since animal hospitals can't fall back on Medicare, I'm not surprised that people have been asked to pay money upfront. In my case, I wasn't but didn't find the fees more expensive than my regular vet's. Sadly my pet didn't make it but she was treated so well and the staff are all very compassionate. I don't know what else I would have done on a Sunday at 5pm otherwise.

I cannot say enough good things about them. Been going to see derm for just under 3 years. They are so helpful and patient - when my dog was diagnosed with cushings I was terrified and the vet sat with me and explained everything about the disease to put my mind at ease they even called to check up every now and again to see how she is going. Additionally my dog is very well looked after and always comes home happy after her routine tests. 

Just recently had a scare with my dog (thankfully there was nothing wrong with her) and the primary care vet was just as amazing! Seriously the most caring people ever I recommend them to everyone :)

I can't thank the vets and nurses enough for the help and service we've received, every time we (unfortunetly) have to come in they've been extraordinary. They're kind, friendly, informative and won't do anything without giving you an alternative option and price of procedures etc. Even the after care is so comforting, the vet being in call and happy to answer questions at any time is so relieving. Truly the friendliest most sincere vet clinic I've ever encountered.

If I could give this place a 0 star rating I would DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR PET HERE! This place ripped us off and ignored a major issue with our pet. They then advised our dog is fine and we would get easily another 6 months to a year before further issues arise and a month later we had to put our dog down. Took our dog there multiple times and they sent in student vets to poke around on my dog before a qualified vet came in, which is unacceptable for an already stressed out dog. 

Not at all happy, all they care about is money and not the pets or people!
