We have painstakenly developed our menu to bring you the very best of classic New Zealand cuisine with our own unique twist.

Came in last night with my family to celebrate my Dad's birthday. The service was excellent and we were well looked after by the staff. Especially by the Asian waiter with the black suspenders. The venison special was the highlight of the night. The dish was presented beautifully and was very tender and delicious. Will definitely visit again!
absolutely wonderful staff and food! the bar staff were incredibly friendly and gave amazing and assuring service. Food and drinks arrived very promptly and serving portions were perfect, they're good for sharing and eating alone, whichever you prefer, as well it is worth the money! The owner introduced herself to my group as we were dining, who is a very friendly and proud woman, a delight to meet! I will definitely be dining in again and would recommend it to anyone looking for something easy to eat and good cocktails! Parking: indoor and outdoor seating
Superb food. Steak was cooked to perfection, and the creme brulee was amazing. Only flaws were with the service. Water was hard to come by they didn't have jugs for the table, and they did not top up water unless asked. I am sure we would have all had more drinks if they had been more attentive on that front as well. All in all, a very pleasant evening.
Probably one of the worst restaurants I’ve dined at. Took my staff there for our Christmas dinner. Looked great inside and all was good at the start until the waiter started to serve us….unfortunately not very experienced…. - Plonks the wine bottle in the middle of the table and just walks away - no idea how to serve plates - holds cutlery by the eating end - waves the knives around like he’s going to throw them - and there’s much more, believe me - manager was drunk - Food was average at best - one colleague showed the uncooked chicken see photo and the chef said it was just blood off the bone - extremely expensive for what we received - in the end when I was paying my $1,300 bill I was just reviewing the bill and was told to by the drunk manager to “just pay the F,n bill will you” Dine with caution folks….I don’t know, this may have been a one off incident, but I won’t be coming back that’s for sure!!

Nice quiet atmosphere, lots of local wine choices and great food.Food: 5/5
Went on a Tuesday night so a bit quiet. Reasonably expensive for the portions. Chicken wings to start were a bit weird. Friend had the aranchini balls that were good. Had the special meal with duck, pork, dophenoise potatoes and steak. Of the 4 things, the steak was amazing and the others were average. Would try somewhere else next time I stay.
Right. If you are staying at an unnamed hotel in this area you should make your way to Abbey Kitchen urgently! Food great! Don’t suffer just turn up here and let them take care of you!
My partner and I enjoyed a delicious meal here this afternoon. Our main was top class and the sticky date pudding was devine. The staff were quick and welcoming, yes I would recommend this restaurant
Obnoxious lady owner? trying to act as a manager. Shouting with staff, challenging customer feedback, needlessly charging around stressfully, rolling her eyes. No thanks. The young staff member was lovely, and the only positive. We, as new locals, won't be back.
