I’m not a local, but was staying in the area and looking for a good traditional Italian meal. After reading some recent reviews it seems like new owners and change to an existing format had some locals second guessing. I decided to give it a go anyway and had a great experience. The service was brilliant - especially our waitress Jess who was energetic, attentive and knowledgeable. Hold onto her - great staff are hard to come by and she is one who represents your business brilliantly. The food was very nice - tasty, nice serving sizes and better quality than I expected when choosing this restaurant - overall I was very happy with the value for money! To the locals - keep giving this restaurant a go - I know change is always difficult, but based on what I’ve experienced elsewhere for the market this restaurant is aimed at, I think it’s well above average. Thank you for a great meal and brilliant service That’s Amore! And thank you Jess for brilliant service throughout!
My partner is Italian & That's Amore, is his favourite restaurant. We eat there regularly. The food, service & atmosphere is sensational. I highly recommend this restaurant. The Byo is an absolute bonus, allowing us to choose our own wine & save a lot. Thank you so much for food cooked with love
After many happy years of dining at That’s Amore, we were surprised on our last visit there earlier this week. The menu has changed and not for the better. The food quality and service were still great …. BUT….. the prices have not just increased but they’ve been ramped up. No entree sized pasta any more. Gourmet pizzas only large size sorry kids !!! . For a modest diner in a carpark the prices only force us to now look elsewhere. Corkage for 2 was $8…… are you kidding me? That’s arrivederci That’s Amore…. she ain’t what she used to be.
Unfortunately my fettuccini was chewy and brittle around the outside. Was not fresh. Disappointing. The dough on my wife’s pizza was paper thin and difficult to cut for some reason. She found it inedible unfortunately. The service was good though, the staff had lovely smiles. Too bad about the food though. Unfortunately we cannot recommend.
We have been going here for years. Until recently it was reliable and good. The last 3 times the food has been very average to bad. 3rd last time we got the lasagne, it was swimming in oil and the 3 people who had some all agreed it was almost inedible. 2nd last time we got home and the order was completely wrong. The reason I asked for a certain ingredient to not be added was because of an allergy. This was also the second time the pizzas have been incorrect The latest time, the pizzas were just really average. Lacking in taste completely and freshness. I am almost certain at least I suspect it has been taken over by new management/owners as it can be the only reason surely the food has gone down hill so much. ? Such a shame, but the fact is there are so many other pizza /Italian food places we won’t be going back again. Too many tries..too many failures. Don’t recommend
We go regularly and appreciate the consistent good quality and value. We booked through the website on the same day. After ordering we were told we only had from 6pm to 7pm. This was not a problem for us but might have been an issue with someone else. Looking forward to next visit.
We’ve been regulars at That’s Amore on a weekly basis for years as the food and service was always great until recently. About a month or so ago we notice the regular pizza chef had changed and the pizza wasn’t up to the usual standard, at 1st we just thought maybe he had the night off. The following week we ordered pasta and schnitzel, again it didn’t seem to be the normal quality we’ve been used too. Another week, we try the pizza again, still no regular pizza chef and again the pizza was pretty poor. The final kick in the guts for us was when they suspended BYO beer, and only providing a very poor and limited selection of beers on the menu, so bad was the selection I choose a glass of red wine instead. The pizza on this same night was probably the worst of the last month. We also discovered that the place had changed owners. After these last few weeks of not so great meals we have decided to suspend our custom to That’s Amore and take our business elsewhere.
We enjoyed another great dinner at That’s Amore. Absolutely fantastic seafood marinara and oysters natural kilpatrick. Both were sensational! Will be back for more!! Also really great staff, service was excellent.
The food was amazing however the wait for the food was extremely long. We did not enjoy the process of ordering on the iPads as we thought we had sent through the order however 20 mins later when we were already looking for our entrees the waitress came over and said she would now send that through. We then waited another 20 or so minutes for the garlic bread entree. And then a further 40 minutes after the entree for the main. Although the food was nice this did not justify the wait. That’s Amore used to be a local institution with friendly, efficient service and fantastic food. Sad to report that following its sale to new owners it is disappointingly sub par. Our table waited 90 minutes for meals other than one kid’s spaghetti bolognaise that came out after 15 minutes. The ordering system via tablets does not translate to efficient or proper delivery of meals. In addition two meals were the wrong dishes once finally received. To the staff’s credit we were not charged for these. The manager/owner was quite rude and not at all obliging when honest feedback was given. It seems the new owners have bitten off more than they can chew with That’s Amore. It’s a real shame that what was a “go to” restaurant is no longer.
