This Thai restaurant is the best I’ve had in Sydney so far! I highly recommend the red curry duck—the duck is so tender! However, the base of the dessert was warm, which felt a bit odd but still tasted good. Overall, the food is amazing and worth a second visit, though there is a time limit for dining.
I had always noticed this restaurant bustling with people every time I passed by, which made me wonder and led me to finally give it a try. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to the hype.nnThe food was a major letdown. Many of the dishes were excessively sweet, lacking the authentic Thai flavors that I was eagerly looking for. The fish, in particular, was a disappointment. It tasted like frozen fish rather than fresh, which negatively impacted both its taste and texture. The stir-fry water spinach was the only redeeming dish of the meal.nnI also realised the restaurant is more expensive compared to other Thai places. It seems that the higher price tag is more reflective of the service and ambiance rather than the quality of the food.nnThe only good experience I had was their service. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the environment in the restaurant was pleasant and comfortable. The ambiance was inviting, and the service team made an effort to enhance the dining experience.nnDespite these positives, the overall meal did not justify the hype or the crowds. Based on my experience, I won’t be returning. With their close to 5k google reviews, I am left questioning if those reviews are genuine.
With many Thai restaurant competitors in the area, this one stands out due to its large size and previous awards, and id say it’s pretty good. We made a booking during the opening of the night and we were seated promptly and provided screen menus to look at. A waiter will take your order and I think what surprised me the most was how quickly everything came. Within minutes, our food items were already brought over but in weird orders. We got the coconut rice first, then our mains, cocktails and finally the entree. Considering how quickly everything came, it kinda still works. I will recommend two servings of rice to accompany any curry dish as one isn’t enough but $3 extra for coconut rice over standard is pretty steep. The meals itself tasted quite nice and had a decent kick of spice. The fried ice cream we had delivered after our mains was pretty good too. I think I was most impressed with the sticky rice mango cocktail as the drink tasted nice but also enjoyed the additional sticky rice balls and mango slices on top. I understand that mangoes aren’t in season and I appreciate when they don’t substitute with frozen mangoes.
Decor was pretty.nFood was great, we got the BBQ combo, lamb massamun, betem leaf shrimp appetizer, and chili scallop appetizers.nService was friendly and efficientnMy cocktail was nice.nMy only issue is that they couldn't split the bill at all, like even on two cards.
The restaurant had a great atmosphere and service from the staff was amazing from when you walk in till you leave. We went for a birthday dinner here and they gave a birthday dessert, took photos and sang happy birthday.nnThey have a wide variety of food and drink options which was great and the ones we tried were delicious and the flavours were exceptional. I loved and would recommend the Red Duck Curry and the Soft Shell Crab Salad. The only thing to keep in mind is that the rice portions were a little small as you have to get that separate to the mains.
