Frank is a lad. He had served us take away not long after they had closed the kitchen. And the food was amazing, fresh ingredients, quality meat & full of flavour. Keep an eye on this space as they are about to open a Bar next door. And i think it'll be a hit, it's not overly large but a nice intimate private setting.
Pretty good food, some not as flavorful as others. The big downfall is that the portion sizes are just too small. I finish everything too easily and don’t feel full, and definitely no leftovers.
Highly recommend Thai on Charles. A great selection of food that was all fantastic and would highly recommend. Just the right amount of chilli also. We will be going back again for sure.
Comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff, great food. Vegan and meat dishes available. Satay stir fry vegetables was really delicious: variety of greens; good balance between sweet and savoury. The Tom Yum soup isn't as memorable but I'd order it again anyway.
What a fantastic experience! Not only was the food delicious, we also had the pleasure of being served by Frank and his son Elliot. Great to know this is around the corner, as we will be back very soon.
undoubtedly one of the best Thai restaurants I've ever been to. the food is phenomenal and service is fantastic. Frank and the team take such good care of the customers while also providing insanely delicious Thai cuisine. my friends and I have only been here twice but we will be returning many more times in future. so happy we discovered this hidden gem
Exceptionally beautiful, fresh dishes.. our favorite Thai place
Not only did my order arrive piping hot and in an outstandingly short time period it was just perfect! I had the vegetarian stir-fried rice and veges, the vegan roti wrap and vegetarian green curry everything was delicious ! Everything had Lots of vegetables and they were perfectly cooked, still a bit crisp , no soggy old Vegies that I've had from take out in the past which I know travel takes some responsibility for but not thai on Charles! I felt like I had orderd at the restaurant , and If i shut my eyes and sat infront of my heater wearing my oodie in the middle of summer I could have been in Thailand! Khob khun ka/ karp
Avoid this place if you want good Thai food- hands down the worst Thai I've ever had the misfortune of eating. Ordered 3 dishes to take away- told after paying that it would be a 35 min wait... an hour and 5 mins later we finally get our food. A pad see ew that was so bland it could barely be described as cooked. Raw veg and sloppy, watery noodles. At least they were flat. Secondly avoid the massaman curry as it's no where near what it should be- closer to a laksa with week old meat. Flavourless, watery and undercooked veg. The satay skewers were below average but somehow the highlight of the meal. I hate giving a 1 star review but this place doesn't live up to its rating- judging by other reviews, they've probably never had good Thai food. Proceed at your own risk.
First time here on a Sunday night and the place was empty. We popped in for a quiet dinner and surprisingly enjoyed it. We ordered the entree platter, tom yum soup, green curry with coconut rice, and the spicy papaya salad. Everything was full of flavour and didn't disappoint. Only let down was the long wait for food to come out, which was probably caused by all the take away orders throughout the night.
