Tempe railway station is a heritage-listed railway station located on the Illawarra line, serving the Sydney suburb of Tempe in New South Wales, Australia. It is served by Sydney Trains T4 line services. The station has 4 platforms but lacks elevators.
Tempe station always seems to be under repair with stairs and walkways under construction. At time of writing, there are no elevators, so disabled passengers don't seem to have enough options to get to platform 3 which goes back towards Sydenham and the City. Not too many stations can see the next station on the line, but Tempe can Wolli Creek. It's worth planning a trip to Tempe because the parklands and bike tracks around the Cooks River are worth visiting.
Tempe Station seems like the old station,I have seen most of the train doesn't stop here, it doesn't have lift too. toilet was locked may be due to covid.
A decent local station, Tempe offers access to the T4 line and nearby transport hubs, including Wolli Creek T4, T8 and Sydenham T3, T4, T8. There is nice vegetation along the central platforms, although the wheelchair accessibility is dismal. To enter the platforms in the centre those going towards the city circle, one must make their way over at least two tall sets of stairs, and lifts are not available.
Not many trains stop here only the all stations to Hurstville and Bondi Junction not stopping at St.Peters & Erskinville. Used to catch the train to the East Hills line before the Airport line was opened in 2000.nNeeds an elevator installed for the disabled and the elderly.
