This is the second time I visited this place. The first time was great but from some reason the second time felt a bit ordinary. The Fish curry was a bit tight too bland for my palette. The prawn starters were tasty but I was not too impressed that I had to de-shell my entree. The payasam for desert was good.
It was a different experience altogether. Was quite amazed to see the food produced by such a small kitchen. The food was quite good. The only thing I wasn't sure was the price.. I felt it was on the higher side. Recommend trying the beef curry accompanied by the Malabar paratha. Wouldn't say it was the best I've had, but it's definitely one of the better ones I 've had.
My wife and I visited Tellicherry on Wednesday night. We had 4 entree as we couldn't decide between the list of exquisite alternatives. We had the Pepper Chicken, the Lamb Chops, the Dosa and the fried cauliflower. To say the food was exquisite is an understatement. This was the best Indian food I have ever had, bar none. It is a small restaurant so you will need to book. Its also BYO, which helps! Prices are very reasonable and the staff are super helpful. Couldn't say enough about how great a restaurant this really is. A gem in Neutral Bay.
We ordered fish briyani, lamb main dish and parotha. Both fish briyani and lamb costed us $28 each. With that pricing we expected a much larger portion however the serving size was too small for the hefty price. Nothing fantastic with the fish briyani. It was rather dry with no gravy. The lamb however tasted delicious. Waiting time for the food to arrive took way too long on a Friday evening- 40 mins wait time. Appreciate the customer service but would not recommend given the price and average portionings.
My wife & I ate here and were very pleased. A small restaurant with all of the seats filled! The food was freshly cooked and very flavourful and the service was very friendly and efficient. We had the Fish Biryani, Rogan Josh & Naan. The naan was really good! A simple place with great Southern Indian food!!!
We have been going here for over a year, and are always wowed by the flavour. We have since moved to a different part of town so we no longer get to visit as much as we'd like, but we always make a point to bring the overseas relatives and Tellicherry has certainly been met with universal acclaim! Saffron prawns are great, as is the chicken kori gassi and the malabar beef fry. We did the meat tasting set menu for the first time this week, I would recommend that as it is quite good value - lots to sample and taste, as opposed to just ordering a couple things. BYO accepted, GF and vegetarian options, etc.
The food here is tasty fresh and healthy. Best Indian around. Unique menu. The fish curry is amazing!
Superb, fresh and tasty food. We had the vegetarian tasting menu and every one of the seven dishes was a delight. Highly recommended!
1. Very very expensive 2. Not spicy , the egg plant curry was very sweet 3. Spent $120 for 4 and just half stomach filled 4. Garlic naan was not good
