I just want to take a moment to acknowledge and sincerely thank the amazing nurses at Te Awamutu medical centre who helped my aunty today, after she fell 2 times inside TA medical centre while leaving. Your kindness, quick response, care, and reassurance meant more than words can explain. I am very grateful to have received the support for my new born bubs as well, while I had tended to my aunty. Thank you once again!
Both myself and my son have had great experiences here, I get well looked after, of course the stuff aren't always going to be chirpy it's the Job they are in high demand. So well done TAMC keep up the great māhi.
The conduct of Nurse Deborah Kennard was completely unacceptable. After making a serious and distressing accusation against my friend, she then discussed the situation with other staff in front of her, leaving my friend feeling humiliated and unfairly judged.nnMy friend is a caring and attentive mother who sought medical help for her daughter, only to be left feeling traumatised and, in her view, unfairly profiled. This experience was deeply upsetting and not what anyone should expect when seeking care.nnI am extremely disappointed by this behaviour at Te Awamutu Medical and will be sharing this experience with others, as I would strongly encourage people to consider alternative healthcare providers.
I was told last Friday to come in today Monday 30th September due to long wait time for actual appointment so I was there before the doors opened at 8am. I waited for 3 hours and eventually got told sorry but if you go home and come back at 1.30pm we will have an appointment made for then. So. I went home came back at 1.15pm to be told the person I was gonna see has now gone home sick and I would have to wait probably another hour or more to be seen in A & E part. Are you joking me!!! You have my phone details and couldn't txt me or ring me to tell me this. Now I have to wait till the 14th October to be seen. I've come home so very upset and distraught from being mucked around and attitudes that really could care less about you. And the fact I don't drive I had to ask someone to bring me down both times that also changed their plans to bring me, and I get stuffed around like that. It's a bloody circus. So now the serious infection I have will go untreated till 14th Oct. It's no wonder people don't bother going to doctors anymore, waste of dam time, and I'm more stressed out now than before I went.
I have always been treated politely and kindly at TAMC, the doctors are efficient, listen carefully and take time during the consultation. I think we are lucky to have this clinic and that all the staff are doing their best in very busy, under resourced circumstances. The reality is that it is almost impossible to make a same day appointment with your own or any doctor and this is not their fault. Keep doing good work TAMC.
