Very informative museum. Friendly staff and beautiful library with coffee shop.
What a beautiful venue that is a hive of activity. It holds the local library, a giftshop, cafe, small meeting rooms for hire, a computer room, ticketing for Inner City, a cinema and a hall and stage for events and kitchen with an outdoor catering space. Lots of parking. I'm certain it holds alot more but has a foyer that will take your breath away. Great venue.
Pros: It's fantastic that somewhere as small as Kaitaia gets to have the latest movies on the big screen. The seats are comfy and although the screen is not huge, it's a classic old-style cinema.nnCons: Consistently across three visits, we found the majority of other patrons to be older patrons who seem blissfully unaware just how rude it is to chatter during a movie or to giggle at tense moments in a thriller.
This is the best community centre I have ever been in. The library has a peaceful calm about it and many great books to browse. Ah, an enticing smell from the café! There are freshly made snacks and great coffee, too.nnMost important, all the staff are friendly and approachable - smiles are everywhere you look!nnAs well as the library, there are numerous more things that make Te Ahu great. An excellent cinema showing the latest movies, intriguing artwork in the atrium, an art space for local artists to display their work, souvenir and information centre, computers to use for free and also a museum.nnCome see for yourself and enjoy :
Great place to walk around. The loop, around Te Ahu and neighboring properties is being developed. Here's some morning shots on the loop.
