We had a great time at the Zoo. Driving around takes about 3hrs to see most of the exhibits but not rushing. Next time we will be going using the electric buggies and would recommend going this way if you have a family or small group. The animals appear to have great enclosures with lots of space to roam, not feeling trapped. They all look well taken care of. There’s plenty to look at and the information on available to learn digitally about the exhibits is handy. More QR codes with text sites or videos would be appreciated. Take the day and explore this awesome zoo.
Great zoo with plenty of things to see. Carts were good with room for only one car seat though and only 3 hours seems a bit short for the amount of attractions. Bikes with kid seats and trailers seem like the better option for families to have the full day. Decent food available and good gift shop.
We had an amazing experience at the zoo! The fallow deer was a standout as we happened to be there at feeding time. The zoo was busy in the morning but from about 2:30 onwards a calm descended over the zoo and it was wonderful. We went back a second day because we loved it so much.
Had heard a lot about the drive in aspect of the zoo and we finally got a chance to visit. We booked the tickets online in advance. We could directly enter the zoo with the ticket received on email. The difference in this zoo is that you can drive around in your own vehicle and visit the animal enclosures. Although I drove around this time, I felt it’s better to take the electric buggy which costs around $70 and accommodates 6 people as you can make more frequent stops and get on and off easily compared to a car. The enclosures are pretty big which could result in you not seeing some of the animals as they may be far away from the viewing area. Overall a good visit.
We had a great two day experience at the zoo with two adults and four children. It was nice to see animals in a very natural environment just being themselves. We booked everything in advance including the Giraffe encounter, the Meerkat encounter, the Savannah safari bus tour and cart hire. Everything was perfect, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the food was great, zero complaints from the children who really enjoyed their visit.
Wonderful zoo. Well laid out with expansive enclosures for the animals and good viewing points to see them. Elected to drive but you can walk or hire a bike or golf buggy. To really take it all in I would recommend a minimum of at least 3 hours.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Had an absolute awesome time, would definitely recommend to anyone of any age. We had our two kids both under 3 and the grandparents and everybody had a ball. It works out cheaper of you get tickets online, there is concession prices available and kids under 3 are free. You can hire a 6 seater cart to drive around the zoo with the option of putting your kids car seats in the cart. There was also bikes available for hire if you wanted to have a ride around the zoo. Your able to drive your own vehicle or walk as well. I really loved how natural it was, there wasn't really cages rather open areas with appropriate fencing suited to that animal, with quite a few having motes around them. We had the cart for the day which I found was a good amount of time with kids to see all the animals, as you have to walk to a lot of them from the parking bays they have.
Such a cool zoo with environmental and conservation measure and efforts in place. The best way to enjoy the zoo especially in the heat of summer is to drive your car through. They also have buggy’s for rent as well as bikes if you are feeling up for it. My favourites were the rhinos and the tortoises. Must say that the australia exhibits were really lacking compared to the rest of the park
Awesome zoo with African animals. The Savannah Safari makes you feel like you're in Africa. There's so many different animals to see in the zoo, you need a full day to see them all or take advantage of the 2 day ticket. It's great being able to drive your own car through the zoo at no extra cost, there is plenty of parking throughout. It was worth making the trip to Dubbo to explore the zoo.
What an amazing Zoo!! Every keeper we encountered was amazingly friendly and spoke with passion and pride about their animals. We also did the most amazing animal encounters with the hippos, was so amazing to be up close with these gorgeous animals! Can't recommend enough!
