The food at the zoo goes up and down in quality and price. Today we ordered a vege burger which had a deep fried patty and a single piece of tomato - what the?, a beef burger beef cheese and one pickle, both come with chips; and two kids chips with chicken nuggets not fresh chicken but processed “meat”. Présentation zero. Looked absolutely disgusting. Taste one out of five. Absence of any content that makes a burger $16 - yep. If you had asked how much this was worth, I’d say $6 for the burger and $3 for the chips. At most. Being generous. Advice - with covid and no social distancing being applied inside the food hall - take a home made lunch to the zoo. But watch for the Ibis - they haven’t been fed for months and are ravenous! We’ve been coming as zoo friends to Taronga zoo for 8 years - this was the worst visit by far.
All the food are pre-made. You can pick it up by yourself and pay directly. Therefore, do not expect the food to be hot enough. Taste is not bad but a bit pricy. Quite a lot of choices except from burgers and fries. You can see Thai fried rice, poke bowl and curry rice.
Needs a healthier menu and significantly higher quality food. Recommend bringing your own lunch or just skipping lunch altogether. If you do need to buy something limit it to just the chips or an ice-cream. The zoo is excellent, it's tuck shop not so much.
Convenience yes but opportunity to inflate prices to milk from those whom don’t pay these prices is huge. Staff employees are recruited from year 10 onwards from international cultures and struggle with English as well as commonsense. Pack your lunch for a greater experience.
Overpriced food and the quality isn't too good. The hot chips were warm at best and at $6 a small cup!!!!!! Bin chickens everywhere even on the tables eating discarded food left by others. You would think "management" could do something about it.
If you are hungry you don't have a choice. You must eat here. They don't offer much choice of food, mostly fast food which is not special and pricey.
Garbage food. Tastes like left overs that people were going to throw away. Don’t get anything there, it will ruin your trip
Limited selection, highly overpriced. Plus sides are there's lots of space and I like the pump sauces
The food was expensive and not really good. I have eaten better things. It a mass processing.
Zoo food, pretty much the same as every other food court in a amusmant park or zoo. Highly suggest eating prior to coming but if you must eat here, expect overpriced below average food.
