We tried the spicy ramen and curry karrage. The spicy ramen was really hot and really tasty. And the crunch of the chicken was great. We've been to other taro's ramen around Brisbane and the food is just as good but this venue was a little less busy. The staff were really nice. Parking: There was one spot available on the street even though the restaurant was fairly empty.
Thought the ramen was alright, but heard Taro’s was supposedly one of the better ones in Queensland. I went for the Shio Ramen which I preferred to compared to the Tonkotsu. Had a lighter broth to it and the meat was quite tender - which was nice. Nothing too fancy with the interior design - ordinary.
Taro ramen is delicious and fresh, so are the ingredients and the noodles plus the dumplings are handmade at taro's. They have a unquie ramen every month. This time they had jiro ramen I hadn't had that style since I was last in Tokyo some years back. I will be back it's so lovely .
The soup of the ramen was so fatty! Tasted so strange We felt sick after eating it. The karaage chicken pictured came out nothing like the photo and was so oily and unpleasant that we didn’t eat it. The service was so friendly! Just unfortunately the food wasn’t the best, especially for the price.
We really enjoyed our Ramen, very tasty and fresh. I really enjoyed the broth, all the veggies and meat. We tried different options and like all of them.
Brisbane's best ramen Taro's ramen is a top contender for Brisbane's best ramen. It's consistently good at all the Taro's ramen outlets - the stock is thick, rich and porky. The hand made noodles are chewy and cooked to perfection. The ramen is terrific, but if you start adding topping and extras in can get pricey.
There's a big attempt to be an authentic Japanese/Korean eating house both in the decore and the menu. In fact most of the staff are Japanese also, but they speak great English. After we figured out the hi-tech ordering system it was kimchi/pork rice bowl and fire tonkatsu ramen with pork. Self-serve free condiments are pickled ginger and a green vegetable. They have a good selection of drinks including beers including Suntory but no Kirin or Asahi. My kimchi pork rice dish was great but my Thai wife didn't care for her ramen noodles much and it wasn't very spicy for her taste. Food came fast but not together and the service is very friendly and helpful. Japanese are so polite!
So they take frozen ramen and reboil it like a similar thing that you normally do at home and charge 18.50 for it. Hmmm. So first it's expense second it's taste bad for ramen and 3rd why is this placed rated so highly. I guess the customer service was alright but that's it. They didn't accept split payment the front door knob had a sign turn saying turn hard and push, the tablet we were using had hair and greasy finger and oils spills. Even the ramen topping of meat on the ramen were both cold and thinner then my nails. For anyone who likes ramen or wants to experience true japenese ramen visit any ramen danbo. That's how it should taste and experience it. Also I think it cheaper there aswell.
Atmosphere awesome Noodles either not fully cooked or soaked because ours were super rubbery .. broth was best I’ve had in brisbane thus far, egg and toppings were great, staff super friendly and decent service time.
Probably one of the best ramen experiences that I've tried in Brisbane, highly recommendedFood: 5/5
