I can not fault this place one bit! Went with 4 friends for the bottomless brunch as a birthday celebration and it was the absolute best experience! Service was 10/10 the food was 20/10 and the vibes were immaculate and the music was pumping with their own DJ! Our drinks were constantly refilled and food was an abundance, we had one vegetarian with us and the chef went out of his way to make an off menu dish and we all loved it! Do not hesitate to go, it is a must place to visit! The staff went above and beyond wish I could give this place 10 stars!
The flavours of the tacos surprised me. The mushroom taco was not one I would have picked but it was delicious. Each one has a unique flavour and texture. Staff were friendly and inviting. Tiny place but a great vibe. I can imagine it would be tough to find a spot on a busy night.
Went for Tuesday Tacos night and were seated in the back. It was like walking through a cloud of smoke getting there, the insulation must've been broken or something. Tacos are $6 on Tuesdays, we had the beef cheek and the grilled Barra and wanted to try the vegan tacos but this was sold out for the night sadly. The fish was not very exciting and lacked flavour but the beef cheek was delicious and we ordered a second round of them! Would go back but probably on a warm day and sit in the window area with fresh air!
My friend and I went on a Saturday evening. Obvi, peak time so super busy we had booked ahead of course but it definitely is small and feels rather crowded when all seats are taken. But, it is sign of good business! Definitely some good food and yummy flavours and delicious margaritas Must come back on a less busy night Highly recommend the charred corn and beef tacos
I overall enjoyed the company of my friends and the drinks - Margaritas were excellent. The tacos were extremely disappointing. They did not come out hot and all the ingredients seemed pre-made. The bottomless brunch option had minimal variety and only allowed you to select generic taco options. Bottomless brunch seemed overpriced $85 and only lasted 1.5 hours compared to the standard 2 hours at other venues.
Came here with a friend, was aware that it was pricey but wow are the serving sizes tiny. place has a great variety of food options, and we got the beef and lamb tacos which were alright, since we were still hungry we asked for menus to order some more which they gave us. When our server came back and we started ordering she actually told us I’m sorry but you can’t order more. When I asked if we had time for a drink we had only been there for about 30mins, and the tables next to us had been occupied since before we came in she told us no, and we actually had to leave to vacate our table. I’ve never had that happen to me in my life. Left feeling hungry and quite devalued as a customer so just found another nice bar down the street to sit at.
Definitely overpriced, small single layer tacos, averaging 10$ for a spoonful of protein and 3 pieces of pickled red onion. One of my tacos had pickle carrot that was brown, not super fresh. The beef cheeks quesadilla was 28$ and ridiculously small. not coming back
Came for taco Tuesday, two of the popular taco options were sold out by 8pm which was disappointing. The salmon taco was incredibly, need a glass of water between bites, kind of dry. We were seated in the back of the restaurant where there was zero ventilation from the kitchen. My clothes and hair absolutely stink of burnt grease.
Have really enjoyed the other sister restaurants Sonora, Londres, Santa Catarina, all of which I'd highly recommend. I understand there is a 24 hr cancellation policy, but when I went into the ED there was no way to contact them to alert them or ask to rebook the reservation. Use the number on their own website's contact page? Disconnected. Use the phone number on Google? Straight to voicemail. So, not being able to make my 7:00PM reso, and despite trying to contact them from 3:00 PM opening hours on their website, noting is different on Google, there was no way to contact them. So I've been left with a 5 hour trip to the ED and a $200 bill from Taqiza. A very disappointing and unexpected experience from an otherwise wonderful group of restaurants. Great Mexican food is rare in Sydney but unfortunately won't be trying Taqiza.
The size of a large handkerchief but fabulous Mexican food. The staff artfully dodge and duck around the open kitchen, and little tables with decorum. Have been here several times over the past two years during the City2Surf weekend. Lovely and cozy.
