Signage is poor, we went past. We then turned in, & were confronted by the NO ENTRY signs on the bottle shop. So we went into the car park, but then couldn’t see an office, so found the bar, which we discovered was the place to check in. Our room was clean and adequate, with breakfast cereals, tea & coffee, & milk provided, and 3 cutlery bundles. It was nice to have a back door with a table & chairs, & a view to the sea, only 5 minutes drive away. On the downside, the light over the bathroom mirror was not working. There was only one small bedside table, between the double and single beds. There was no hot breakfast available, but a cafe nearby filled that need. The restaurant was reasonable, although service a little slow. I had grilled salmon, which was hot and nicely presented. My husband’s burger was enormous, enough for 2. I noted that deserts were served in paper cups, not a good look for a restaurant. Our room, no 5, was quite quiet, even though the location is next to a large roundabout. We were there on a week night. I’m wondering how the noise levels would be on Friday or Saturday, when the bar and perhaps live music were busier. In summary, a comfortable location close to the beach, and not far 30 minutes from the city centre. Rooms: Comfortable, clean. A little old. Supply of breakfast cereal, cutlery, plates & cups, milk, tea & coffee appreciated. Quiet fridge a real bonus. I would have liked some cold water in the fridge. Nearby activities: Shopping centre, beach Walkability: Walking distance from the beach and shopping centre, which has a medical centre, PO, butcher, Supermarket, cafe, & small retail.
The chef's special. Good sized meal. Yum. Great place to have lunch and enjoy the view.Service: 5/5
Stopped for lunch and decided a frozen cocktail on a very warm day was much needed. Food was fine, air con was not great. If it was cooler, would have enjoyed it so much more.Food: 4/5
Very disappointed with the quality of food, the meals were below average for the price paid. The focaccia bread for burgers was cold the steak was so thin the salad in burger was 2 slices of tomotoe - little lettuce and side of the worst bottom of the bag chips. 1 meal we had to take back as it was inedible. Couldn’t eat the calamari that was left didn’t bother taking that back. Would not go back.
Ordered food, got told 45minutes. Waited an hour and a half, fair enough. hope the food is good and hot then. The only thing served warm was chips. they were not even hot. My steak sandwich was cold and the hardest bread I've ever had. It literally hurt and damaged the roof of my mouth. Tasted as if it was already stale, cooked until burnt, left cold then reheated to turn hard as a rock. Can't wait to wake up to an inflamed mouth for the next few days. I only continued eating as we were very hungry and didn't want to get a refund, wait longer and go elsewhere.
Food was great, very tasty. But children allowed to run around screaming and just generally out of control place was dirty, tables sticky no service but happy to charge a surcharge on everything extremely hot, wouldn't go back or recommend it to anyone. Couldn't possibly relax and enjoy a drink for the evening.
Great place to come for a meal & a cool beverage or just a cuppa the views are just stunning on a clear day Rooms: 5/5
We travelled around QLD and stopped in Tannum for 2 nights. Had a feed at the pub and it was hands down THE BEST food we have had on our entire trip. Their steak was melt in your mouth delicious. Would highly recommend stopping in here! Atmosphere was relaxed and is kid friendly with a games room and playground. We stayed in the motel and the room was very clean and tidy and well-kept. Would give higher rating if I could!
Love to visit this venue every time that i'm in the area. Well set up and run. We sat outside in the beer garden, overlooking the ocean, watching the ships go by, all the while a soloist was playing some really smooth tunes. Kids playground off to one side. Parking: Always easy to get a parking spot right out the front. Kid-friendliness: Kids meals available. Outside beer garden has a playground and is fully fenced
Excellent lunch. Cold beer and the bar staff were all so friendly. Great afternoon Food: 5/5
