I paid $17 includes delivery for this biryani delivery order and it was just boiled rice with chicken and not a authentic chicken biryani at all, not even a $6 chicken biryani. Didn't found single tomato, no coriander, no dry spices. This is ridiculous that you are charging this much for nothing. I would say it's $6 dollar biryani. Bring some authenticity while dealing with food. Hate such non sense and the cost you put for this this non sense.
Avoid this takeaway Indian joint. Horrible food quality and taste. Chef must be fired because the food taste a bag of frozen vegetables chucked in a tomato base to make mixed vegetables curry. Minus 5 stars
Chicken Tikka roll is excellent value and I love their garlic naan. Tonight my friend and I went there and I ordered and paid and then walked outside to wait with the dog. MY friend said she would grab my order for me. When she went to pay for her order, the woman tried to charge her for my order too even though I paid cash already! MY friend is unfamiliar with indian food and wanted to try the sauce of 2-3 dishes to make sure it was not too spicy for her. The woman serving got impatient with my friend, mentioning something about the cost of forks so my friend ordered 3 curries on rice and was not game enough to ask too many questions after that. My friend was a first time customer so was left with a very bad impression. The container was almost filled to the brim with rice and the majority of each curry was sauce. My friend asked for a proper amount of meat and the woman got annoyed but put on an extra 2 or 3 pieces of meat and then said "I gave you more meat" as if she was doing my friend a favour! If people feel ripped off, they won't come back. I only ever buy the Chicken Tikka roll there these days as the woman is just too mean when it comes to the meat and I don't want to pay for a container of rice and sauce. With companies like UberEats, Menulog and Deliveroo giving us access to far more restaurants, now is not the time to be ripping people off because there are other restaurants out there who do give give proper sized portions. Give people what they have paid for, 3 or 4 pieces of meat is not going to make people want to return. The food is delicious and well worth walking down there for but the woman needs to think twice about her customer service and her unethical practices with ripping people off. If you want to buy a meal, buy it during the day when the men are working because they give you a proper sized portion. The meat they use is excellent quality - that's if you actually get any meat! EDIT: 14/6/2021 I ordered on Ubereats today and was extremely disappointed. The curry I ordered could have been a Coles frozen meal. The watery curry had no flavour and very little meat. The garlic naan was completely flavourless and the small amount of garlic it did have was at least an inch from the edge of the bread. It was thick and cooked well though. They usually pack in the rice to save on meat and sauce but this time I got a separate rice and it was lossely packed in the container and would not even have been the same as a small rice. I am very disappointed and I still maintain to stick with the chicken tikka rolls and to order during the day. With all these reviews saying the same thing about lack of flavour and meat and the meals being mostly rice and sauce, why has nothing changed?
This places deserves a 10/10. I am reviewing these guys after 4 X order through MenuLog and I am compelled to give them a review. They have provided consistent quality on all 4 occassions. Delivery has always been as advised if not slightly earlier so you know when to expect the food. We have order the meal plan menu and there is a variety of choice although not all dishes are available and it is great tasting, container full of food and always satisfies. Best Indian I have tasted in Sydney since arriving actually I like 2 others - one in Mosman and Glebe but this is easy and convenient and never has disappointed. You can tell the meat is quality cuts and the saffron rice is delicious. Try them for yourself!
Great food, reasonably priced, but FANTASTIC service. Tonight I ordered some curries with a few alterations to the menu I'm a picky eater and the man not only agreed to make the alterations but when we turned up a little early to pick up the food, the man offered to bring the food out to the car even though it was pretty average weather! And he EVEN threw in some papadams! The curries were great, the naans were great, everything was reasonably priced, and this woulda been a solid 4 star review but the service really pushed it to extreme. Will definitely return!
Takeaway review: ordered $12 medium box for 2 veg curries and rice. Absolutely terrible quality and found dirt in the food. This place has gone down terribly after change of management. Not recommended at all.
I've purchased from Tandoori Taj sporadically as a local for about 5 years now. Invariably, the various staff seem steeped in serving a plethora of rice and sauce while minimising the quantity of the vegetables, meat, legumes, and so on. They have tried to pull the wool over my eyes every time but I always ask for more substantive content. They reluctantly oblige me and still only just pass muster. Paying $9.90 for a container of white rice and sauce, with only a tad of vegetable and protein content is not my cup of Indian. The quality of food for takeaway is good neither bad nor great though. Would they only drop their stinginess.
Worst Indian in eastern suburbs! Don’t know how you guys are still open because every time I pass you never have anyone in! I’m not surprised $14 for a medium curry and it’s got 3 bits of chicken,I wouldn’t of mind if it actually tasted good but honestly the worst curry I’ve ever had no flavour what so ever! Please do us a favour and shut down so they can actually open a decent restaurant because you guys are an embarrassment to Indian food!
Chicken was nice and tender in the curry, however the sauce was watery and overly sweet. The rice was some the worst rice I've had from an Indian restaurant, it reminded me of the microwave packet rice from supermarkets. Service and price was good. Cannot recommend.
Great place for a quick and easy meal with ready to serve options. You can order off the board as well. The cheese naan is great and the vindaloo is spicy and delicious. The pricing is very reasonable and a medium with rice will fill you up
