Tamura is one of my fav sake bars in Melb. It’s cosy and intimate. Perfect for dinner or just a nibble and drinks. I really enjoyed their yakitoris! They were flavourful and beautifully charred. The ramen blew my mind! Absolutely in love with the broth and noodles were cooked to al dente. My other fav was the octopus! It was refreshing, tangy with a bit of a kick from the wasabi. The wagyu short rib was a bit overcooked. Overall lovely food and great selection of sake! It is a true hidden gem!
Nice little Japanese bar. Nice selection of nihonshu sake and knowledgeable bar staff. The food was geared more towards the sorry of food you'd have whilst drinking. I love the chilled vibe to the place as well
Pretty good Japanese spot. I loved all the dishes except the sando, it was just a little odd how it was presented and the bread was dry the chicken itself was good. On a better note, we ordered one of the specials - the scallop - which was super delicious!
We came here on a weekday afternoon. It was quiet but good atmosphere. Nice place to chat with friends or even for dating. We didn’t try the food but tried a few sake and flavor ones. I personally like the flavor ones, while my friend, as a big fan of sake, loves the classics. They also have some guest sakes to keep you surprised every time you come.
Have to say that it almost felt like a detour to Japan, beautiful sake, tsukune, sando and ramen. If you like dry taste, try benten musume which is from tottori in Japan also the only place there which has a dessert. If you like warm sake, nigori is nice drinking warm. The shop is just cute and attentive staff! Lovely experiences, great for a drink or two on weekdays/weekend m night!
Great Izakaya with lively atmosphere and great sake list. The food is great with lots of delicious small dishes and yakitori. Vintage Jazz and funk playlist is top
I’d give it 6 stars if I could! The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, they chose amazing sakes for my friend and I to try and explained the flavours of each of them beforehand. The food was great - highly recommend the tuna sashimi, miso eggplant yakitori and JFC!! The brown sugar plum negroni was amazing. The vibe of this place is awesome with the records playing. It honestly felt like I was back in Japan. Can’t wait to head back!
The menu was minimal. We have tried their ramen. It was fine. After that we was looking for some snack or moving to another place because they have not much drinking choices on the list. There are only 2 wines on the list but they say we can ask for special wine of the day.. we asked and even tasted and been told it was same price with red/white wine on the list which 14per glass / 65per bottle but we end up pay 80$. We have pointed when we got the bill but the waitress just said SORRY. $15 is nothing but feeling rip off……………
Flavoursome ramen. And the best fried chicken. Great selection of beer and sake! Chill vibe, been coming here since they open.
Great atmosphere and vibe from a small Japanese bar that serves amazing food and drinks while dishing out some jazzy music. The servers are friendly and more than willing to help you pick some drinks out. Would definitely recommend people to come here and would come back again. Tuna Crudo, chicken hearts and matcha bravois were the highlights of the food.
