Look, I got lunch here today. The food was good but I ordered a fish katsu and it had no mayonnaise on it. When I went and asked for mayonnaise they charged me 50 cents extra. This is just something that should never happen in a Japanese take away. Mayonnaise should be free. Why is BBQ sauce free and mayonnaise cost extra. So stupid. My meal already cost $18 and now it cost $18.50 because I wanted some mayonnaise on my katsu; something that should have been there already.

TAKA kitchen Fremantle "AVOID TO PASS THE FOOD ORDER BAG TO THE DRIVER WHO CALLED SWARANJEET" Please read my words carefully as I placed a order from your business via Ubereats on Friday night 18thNov22 . A bad delivery driver who active in both food delivery platform "Ubereats" and "Menulog". This driver called "SWARANJEET" ,race might be indian /middle east with white scraf head bun seen from my order taken my ubereats order from TAKA kitchen Fremantle then played trick to send me another bag of order which was ordered by Menulog customer from Roll'd Fremantle - Vietnamese restaurant. My order completed vanished and never arrived as I assumed he taken it because of the bag with the bigger portion of foods.But he left me the small order see the photo. Again,meant this driver "SWARANJEET" active in both good delivery platform with his dirty, unprofessional act . I had no choice to lodge "food was wrong/never arrived" ticket on Friday night 18 th Nov in ubereats to get full refund.Meant your business done the food to feed this bad driver for free and unhappy customer without the foods supposed to have . Please, don't let him got more foods from the future customers please.
I was here two days in a row for dinner, super tasty and it can't be beat! The first day I had the assorted Sashimi combo, and the next day I had the teriyaki chicken. I rode my bicycle 30km just to have this tasty food again.
Taka used to be in Shafto Lane in the city and it was my go-to for a cheap, tasty, and filling lunch. I don't know if that outlet is still there and I know there's one at the corner of Barrack and Wellington that is always busy when I've looked in. I was glad to find this outlet in what used to be the Old Shanghai food court. As I wanted a light meal I ordered a small unagi eel don. It was just right there was the possibility of cake and coffee later in the afternoon. My wife had a large katsu don, lots of yummy chicken and more rice than she needed. Service was quick and friendly. Credit cards are accepted and there is disabled access. We usually take the train to Freo as there is little free parking there and traffic can be busy.
I've eaten sushi all over the world, and Taka's Kitchen at the upmarkets in Freo are as good as it gets, cheaper, fresher, faster, all of that, great stuff!
Been here many times over the years ,very disappointed with the dishes last night. Really dropped off the quality sorry to say wont be back
