If you go there be bloody careful. A woman drowned up there on the weekend. Stick to the shallow parts. The wind will blow your pump up boats to the other side. Don't chase them, let them go. Got to have your wits about you . I reckon they need an on guard life saver. There's no one and yet they open it up to the public.

A perfect getaway with family and friends. The hosts are a lovely couple. The water is crystal clear and warm and plenty of room for the kids to enjoy. Definitely going back there.

Looks like the best beach with fresh water lake in NZ. The water was so warm and safe for kids. Large shallow area, then deeper area with pontoon. Gorgeous turquoise colour with white sand. This is the best beach area I have seen in this country with a campground attached.

Great spot for camping, shallow lake to try water activities safely, and a flat mountain biking track goes around the lake, but you can short cut part way through for a shorter ride. The campfire has an on-site management couple who clean the bathrooms and look after the site. This place is a great, apparently very popular in the holiday season. It can be ‘noisy-popular’ and a favourite spot for young people and even school groups. I would say chose your timing accordingly.

Pine Beach is a fantastic place to camp. Amenities are very clean. Camp ground staff are friendly and helpful. Great family friendly place for swimming and camping.
