Great little spot with tasty food.nService to order was non existent for us as we sat for 10 minutes. And then had to approach the counter to order.nThe food came out quickly and was very tasty. They have specials most weeknights, we did the $5 Taco Tuesdays.nDrinks are expensive and small. Long Island Tea $23 not sure why, other cocktails also very expensive. Maybe that’s the new norm.
Went there for lunch on a Sunday. I ordered jalapeño poppers, the enchilada and coke. Came up to just under $50 which is kind of pricey for food that was reheated.nMy rice had a lump in it like it was stuck together in a rice cooker or maybe from the bottom of a pot.nIm pretty sure I got a burrito instead of the enchilada. Never had one wraped up. Youd expect it to be cheesy and saucy and it wasnt any of that. Not alot of filling and the bottom was hard as well.nI also got charged extra for guacamole. It was accompanied by 2 corn chips. That was confusing.nCorn chips were used as a garnish.nOne thing that also took me back was the staff. It was like they were hanging out at home. Talking on their phone on loud speaker. Watching vids with the volume up. Laying around the seats. I will admit there was not one customer that came in to dine in the 2 and half hours we were there.nI'm not saying they shouldn't have a break but I wouldn't even do that on public transport.nSo... that was my experience...nBetter off going to Guzmans.
ORDERED:n Fried fish taco: With papaya slaw, jalapeno garlic aioli & ricotta cheese $8.00n Chicken Fajita: Sizzling chicken with onion, capsicum, salsa & served with Spanish rice, beans, corn tortilla, sour cream $28.00n Veggie loaded fries: Fried beer battered chips with melted cheese and pan fried veggies, beans & jalapeno aioli $15.00nnI paid $41.91 here for dinner!nnREVIEW:nTaco 'N' Tequila is an affordable Mexican option for dinner.n What stood out for us were the veggie loaded fries and the fried fish taco.n1. Veggie loaded fries were great to share between 4 people. It was loaded with veggies and the cheese had a satisfying pull!n2. The fried fish tacos were beer battered which provided a decent crunch. Crinkle the corn chips in your hand and add it to the taco for even MORE crunch! nnI found myself quite heavy after these dishes, which isn't my typical feeling after eating Mexican. I think it was the lack of refreshing elements like guacamole, more sour cream, or salsa in my dishes.nMental note: order dishes with these elements next time.nn I did appreciate how Taco 'N' Tequila also have a plethora of hot sauce options available on the table. Green habanero, mango habanero, papaya habanero, and the red habanero. Loved playing around and adding this to my dishes to add more spice and flavour!
Something different from the usual. Family atmosphere, central location. Delicious food generous portions. Service with a smile. Sauce variety on table an added bonus. Tacos were fresh and full of flavour. Sauce packed a punch. Ample parking.
An absolute delight! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a great evening. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, guiding you through an amazing selection of cocktails, loved the names. The tapas-style dishes are bursting with flavor and freshness, showcasing top-notch ingredients. The tacos are amazing. I highly recommend this little Mexican restaurant!
