I had a really great stay at YHA Sydney Harbour in The Rocks. The location is excellent and very convenient. It’s close to the city, and you can easily walk to many places. There are also buses and trams nearby, which makes getting around very easy.nnOne of the best parts of the hostel is the amazing view—you can see both the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House from the property. The rooftop bar is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy the view, especially in the evening.nnI also really liked that they have a café open 24/7, which is very convenient. The hostel also has a shared kitchen for guests, so you can cook your own meals if you want.nnThe staff were very kind, friendly, and helpful during my stay. I especially want to thank Aldo , the manager who helped me when I came back to the hostel one night after having a bit too much to drink. I really appreciated the understanding and support.nnOverall, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place to others, and I will happily come back again in the future.
Stayed at YHA Sydney Harbour for a long weekend. I booked a 4 person hostel room and had the top bunk location with 4 other individuals traveling from across the world.nnThe ensuite shower and toilet were a pleasant surprise. They do also have community, private showers and toilets. There is a complimentary luggage hold area near the lobby.nnThe hostel itself hosts various daily activities such as manly beach excursion, Coogee to Bondi coastal walk, live music at the rooftop bar above, morning workouts. They also collaborate with their sister hostel, YHA Sydney Central and have a bar crawl Saturday nights for $20.nnThis property is in the rocks, a fantastic location for those interested in the Sydney Opera House 15 minute walk, Sydney Harbour Bridge 5-10 minute walk, and circular quay 5 minute walk. Within the circular quay, there are multiple ferries going to various other harbours in Sydney, making it a prime location to get to places like manly beach, Watson bay, Milton point. if you’re trying to get to Darling Harbor, Surrey Hills, Darlinghurst, Bondi Beach, you can take a tram or a bus to those locations, roughly 10 minutes, although Bondi Beach can be 45 min to 1 hour by bus.nnOverall, would recommend this hostel if interested in things above!
Really good hostel experience ! Felt welcomed by all the staff & was really surprised and pleased by all the facilities it has to offer here. The rooftop view was definitely a winner & also felt it went above and beyond in regards to what I’ve seen at hostels prior. The access to kitchen food and a fully decked cafe is so nice. Easy access to everything around especially with only being a 5 minute walk to circular quay. Another mention to all the staff and how truly lovely they all are & to Tomas to also being so lovely and easy to talk to. Room was super clean also !
Great value. Visited Spring this year, family of three. This place is so family friendly and very impressed with facilities - they are not high end as it is a hostel however everything clean, simple and just made everything super convenient for our trip. We felt so comfortable during breakfast times with our preschooler because of the chill/unpretentious vibe.nnBathroom cleanliness however for our room was not great :/. It is the reason for not giving five stars, the issue was the black mould in nearly all the grout lines of the shower. I actually felt a bit upset when we got there the first night but my son loved sleeping in the bunk bed and we didn't know if we could get another room with bunk bed. We were at the end of the hall on the first level, and opposite us was a communal bathroom that was cleaner than ours with no mould. I mention this as I hope YHA take this on board to fix this issue/maybe need to regrout that particular shower? The bed was comfy and temperature was good otherwise. Shower pressure was also good.nnI would like to thank the staff for making our stay sooo wonderful too The music on the rooftop with dinner and the view..was a highlight of our trip. Would love to return to YHA Harbour if hopefully we can have a cleaner bathroom next time!
Absolutely loved my stay at YHA Sydney Harbour! The location couldn’t be better — right in The Rocks, just a short walk to trains, buses, and trams, and so close to the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The place is spotless, with super clean rooms and common areas. The staff are friendly and always ready to help with anything you need.nnI really liked the kitchens — fully equipped and perfect for cooking whatever you want, which made it feel just like home. And the rooftop view… wow! It’s simply breathtaking, with the Harbour Bridge and Opera House right in front of you.nnI’ll definitely be coming back here next time I’m in Sydney. Highly recommend it!
