Watched Ashes Test Match days 3, 4 and 5 in the stadium. Also went on the tour of the ground.nnI had a good view of the field on all days. Sitting at ground level on days 3 and 4 was tricky as open to the fierce sun: even with plenty of Factor 50+ sunscreen I suffered sunburn. Be sure to wear long sleeved top and cover your legs. On day 5 I sat in the Victor Trumper stand, full shade and slight breeze, much better viewing conditions.nnWater stations around the ground to fill your own water bottles. Plenty of food stalls and usual choices at a sports ground.nnSpeedy access through security, despite sellout crowds.nnStadium tour lasted about 2 hours. It began in the museum, took us along the Walk of Honour, into stands, the members' pavilion, the teams' changerooms. The guide was excellent, plenty of information, 'inside' knowledge, answering questions, touring the items in the museum. I believe that the museum and surrounding area is going to be rebuilt to extend the museum and incorporate indoor nets, not sure when, but the work will impact tours when it is in progress.
Watching Virat Kohli live at the Sydney Cricket Ground was an absolute dream come true. The SCG is a world-class stadium with an incredible atmosphere, rich history, and outstanding facilities. The view from the seats was excellent, and the energy of the crowd when Kohli walked in to bat was simply electrifying.nnThe stadium is very well organized, clean, and easy to navigate, with helpful staff and great food options. From entry to exit, everything was smooth and enjoyable. Experiencing a legend like Virat Kohli perform at such an iconic venue made this visit truly unforgettable. A must-visit stadium for every cricket fan.
The challenger Sydney Sixers vs Hobart Hurricane was epic! For the first time of being in a real cricket match, I could not believe the vibe of the crowd was top notch. People were celebrating birthdays and even trying to do the Mexican wave all around the stadium it almost worked. There also were a lot of activities and the atmosphere was INCREDIBLE!nnOh there was also beer chugging and people throwing beach balls nnThe only downside is even if you took public transport, it WILL be crowded, so be careful. At this point parking your car would be better.
The guided tour at the Sydney Cricket Ground SCG was an engaging and memorable experience. The explanation of guide was clear, well-paced, and rich with fascinating stories about legendary matches, iconic players, and the stadium’s long sporting heritage. Walking through the historic stands, dressing rooms, and museum areas while listening to the narration made the experience both informative and immersive. Overall, it was a well-organized and enjoyable tour that brought the history and spirit of the SCG vividly to life.
Watching the Ashes at the SCG was an unforgettable experience. From the emotional moment of Khawaja’s retirement to Starc’s stunning spell, every second felt special. The Barmy Army vs Aussie fans banter was pure entertainment ; nonstop chants, loud cheers, and friendly rivalry that lifted the atmosphere to another level. Add it all together and the experience was truly surreal. The SCG is a world-class venue that creates memories you carry for life.
