Story

Sydney Bus Museum is a not-for-profit transportation museum and education centre for public benefit located in the suburb of Leichhardt, in Sydney, Australia.It opened in 1986 in the former Tempe Bus Depot being formally opened in April 1988. Following the State Transit Authority deciding to re-open the depot for its Metrobus operation, the museum was allocated space in a disused part of Leichhardt depot in 2010.The museum is open to the public on the first and third Sunday of each month.The museum restores, maintains, displays and operates buses from the 1920s to recent eras. It also provides buses for historical celebrations, and for film and photo shoots.

Public transport as it used to be and catch a double decker ride too. The Sydney Bus Museum can only be accessed from Norton St then turn into Wiliam St then turn left down to number 25 Derbyshire Rd entrance is on the outside the bus depot. There is limited parking so by public transport is your best bet: State Transit buses 440, 444, 445, m10 to Norton St Leichhardt NSW and a short walk along William St to Derbyshire Rd to the Museum. Or Light Rail services to Leichhardt North and a short walk along City West Link and the pedestrian access to Derbyshire Rd. The bus museum has specific opening times and days of the weekend. OPEN SELECTED SUNDAYS 10.00am - 4.00pm. The Sydney Bus Museum is now open every first and third Sunday of the month. Please check the website for further details. So much history on the buses from a bygone era,if your into transpot get down to here well worth the visit..Sometimes they have buses running round trips into the CBD.

Like vintage buses or see that old school bus you caught when you where young then its great. Double Decker ride to QVB was fantastic surprise.

Had a great time at Deckers in the Night, thanks to all of the organisers and volunteers at Sydney Bus Museum. Would definitely recommend a visit.

This place is pretty cool. Went on the Double Decker night bus tour to the museum.
