The kids from this school are very relaxed, non-judgemental and happy to express themselves in many creative ways. It seems to be a very inclusive and harmonious school that accepts kids from all walks of life. The staff must be doing a good job to promote this kind of vibe.
New management has ruined the school, no longer has any real inclusity apart from for face, very abeliest. Good way to get your children on drugs, or give them an eating disorder. Would be better off not sending your kids to school at all.
A fantastic school. I graduated in 2008 after transferring from my local public school in 2006 despite needing to travel over an hour and half each day.nnWhile the overt emphasis appeared to be on arts and humanities, I can say that the maths and science subjects were of a great standard....far better than my previous public school. The electives available were also great such as philosophy etc.nnWednesdays off were an amazing idea. Great for catching up on assignments or in my case studying extra electives via distance education.nnThe teachers were super respectful to students, and students respected them in turn. There was comraderie between teachers and students. Bullying was non-existen and everyone mixed with everyone else regardless of sub cultures or class. The students were much more mature, tolerant and open minded.nnI would say I was a moderate high achiever l, but with very little drive for study ar exam prep. This school prepared me well, and my results were comparable to that of my many private or selective school friends....who I took to be brighter with a better work ethic nnAnd thanks for the free dress policy!nnI wish there were more schools like this.
Excellent school, that does particularly well at catering for kids who are neurodivergent, queer, have mental health issues or anyone for whom larger, more mainstream settings do not work. My child has just finished a 3-year VCE here this is another plus - they encourage this option for kids who struggle with overload and it's SUCH a good idea - should be commonplace in ALL secondary schools IMO and I doubt my kid would have finished school at all in a standard setting, due to the structures and system being often non-inclusive for many teens. They have now been accepted into uni to study the career of their dreams : I can't recommend SSC highly enough.
This school admires their creative students. This is honestly one of the best schools and teaches your the real world and helps your child to do really well. Everyone is so amazing and supportive, there is ZERO bullying culture to be found anywhere. The students are all here to learn and it is an amazing place.
