With a glut of great shops in Doncaster shopping town this lacks some oomph that would otherwise see it busier. No doubt as those special occasions such as Easter, Valentine’s Day etc are upon us it has what you’re after. With specialty Lolly Shops in the burbs that brim over with creativity and colour, this is just another store in another shopping complex. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good parking
It’s a comfy store inside Westfield Doncaster which sells only sweets. It reminds me of James’s store from ‘The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me’ by Roald Dahl.
Today I went into the store to purchase a snack and the lady at the counter shamed me by asking, ‘Is that your lunch? Coffee and a bag of chips? That doesn’t look healthy’, which I laughed off and reasoned that it wasn’t. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time this particular lady has shamed me as I previously bought items from the store a few years ago and she would make similar comments about the junk food I was buying. This really set the mood for the day by making me feel self conscious and not wanting to visit the store again.
Excellent range of sugar filled delights. Some old favourites and a good selection of chocolates for Easter. Definitely needs more selections from NZ but seeing other countries sweets is very cool too. Kind, helpful efficient staff and well stocked shelves.
I frequent this place far too often. Great for local and European confectionery and they often have some great specials. If they gave FlyBuys, I'd have probably earned enough airmiles to loop the world by now, I'd probably also have diabetes. A dangerous shop to enter with a sweet tooth and low will power, but you only live once - right!
Sells out of date chocolates at mark down prices. Bought a pack of Daims which was more than a month from its best before date. Not the ideal place to buy gifts for someone. I work at Woolworths and when we mark down a product and try to sell it people go nuts asking questions such as "why are they marked down? Are they out of date etc etc" . Also exactly on the day of their expiry/best before date we are supposed to dump them immediately, or else the council comes and grill us....
I love Sweet As!! I love the range of American Confectionery and the Swiss chocolates. The women who work there are always friendly and helpful. I especially enjoy the samples!
*** A LOCAL GUIDE - LEVEL 3 AND WE'RE SMASHING THIS AREA, CLICK THE NAME FOR MORE KICKASS REVIEWS. *** I believe in good customer service and being able to have a joke around with the store to be honest and that's a fact, Elmer the owner I would say over charged me but we corrected it before my card was charged and he made joke we charge for two you get one I get one, it was comedy like this that made this store refreshing after a hard days work to be honest. Good selection, good range, good specials and excellent customer service so don't miss it, this is for the sweet tooths out there to be honest.
These guys are awesome, I feel like a kid in a candy shop lol! Very friendly staff and helpful.
Great shop with friendly service. You can get great deals here However do check the expiry date. Other then this its a great store with great prices
