Disappointed with information Swan Hill I was so looking forward to coming to work in this town with the Breast Screening van after 5 years of working in different rural  nice small towns around country Victoria.As usual as we normally do as Radiographers in this job I called information centre to see if they can recommend a rental house for 3 months.A nice lady on the phone gave me 3 contacts. The first one I called was a very nice lady who promised me a big house with 3+ bedrooms which would be available during my visit. In time she called me asking for the deposit of $350 and gave me her bank details. As this was normal procedure I paid and hoped that the address and directions of the rental place will follow later.I have done this before because really you got to trust people and never have I been disappointed before. I sent a msg "Money is in your account please send me the address"."Will do" was her reply but she never did. Closer to the time I contacted her several times .Never picked up the phone. My colleagues told me that it looked like a SCAM to them but I still had hope. Just a week before I was supposed to start working in Swan Hill I ultimately got hold of her.She would be cleaning the house on the day of my arrival therefore I need to wait for her in the 'PUB'
What the? Cant you give me the address then I can catch a taxi to the house? No.
Now I knew that my colleagues were correct. THAT WAS A BIG SCAM.Jenny Robinson never intended to rent her place to me.She just wanted an Xtra $350 in her account. Is it worth it? She sent her brother or maybe just another man who is like her to call and threaten me."If you don't stop calling my sister I will call your employer and you loose your job.Who did he think employed me? I stopped calling because I thought if they are capable of such threatening call they can do anything to me and I am all alone in a foreign place away from my family.If $350 mean that much to them ,my life is not worth that'LITTLE 'Their lives look like it is worth that small bit of money.SHAME.
It is no more about money it is the PRINCIPLE You cannot just promise someone accommodation take their money and claim that you have cancellation policy when you never even gave the address of the place.
This, Jenny is just the beginning I won't stop until I get my money back.NEVER
