Obviously My Previous Review of Swan Hill Hospital Has Been Deleted. Went in for Severe Tonsolitis & Conjunctivitis. Had A Previous CoVid Test From Austin Hospital which they wouldn't Accept. Staff Were Running Around As They Didn't Know "CoVid Test Protocol" Very Unprofessional. I Walked Out. Still haven't Recovered From Tonsils or Conjunctivitis. Swan Hills Staff Effected Me Mentally & Physically With There Lack of "Duty of Care" Let's See if This Review Gets Removed.??
AVOID THIS HOSPITAL!!! I strongly suggest you bypass this hospital if you can, the doctors and nursing staff are beyond caring. They do not respect patients confidently, they have very poor bedside manner when dealing with mental health and on multiple occasions get patients confused and provide with wrong medication. A new hospital will not work if you keep the current staff!
After an horrific accident north of Swan Hill involving myself and my husband, we were incredibly grateful to be taken by ambulance to Swan Hill Hospital. The care from the Emergency Department was extremely professional, thorough and we were listened to carefully and checked over accordingly. We received updates on each other through the nursing staff who were generous with their time and explained any procedure carefully, always asking if we needed any questions answered. Staff in the Radiology Department had to come in on a public holiday but also showed great care even though they were giving up their plans for the day. Once on a ward we were able to share a room which enabled us to debrief over the traumatic experience we’d been through and support each other privately. Again the staff were amazingly passionate about their job and gave us incredible care with humour and compassion and then checking that we were getting any pain relief that was needed. We want to thank all the staff for this care and saw lots of young doctors and nurses being mentored by those with more experience with respect and encouragement. The catering staff and cleaning staff were friendly and attentive, always asking about how we were feeling and making an effort to cater for our need when plans changed at short notice. Admin staff were also friendly, helpful and thorough with all paperwork and phone calls. What a wonderful country hospital! Like for all hospitals we hope that your funding for staff and equipment improves so that you can keep up this life saving work. Thanks.
Avoid at all costs. We moved our family member down to Bendigo to get treatment as there was a severe lack of expertise, care, and facilities here. The Doctor was condescending and lacked any understanding or professionalism. The staff are not wearing lanyards or ID or face masks correctly. Absolutely abhorrent. Edited: They wouldn't do any tests on my Dad, they put it down to old age and wanted to send him home with outpatient allied health support. I took him straight down to St John of God hospital and they found cancer. He passed away less than four months later.
please be aware that this health service sends out deceptive invoices to clients, they for months after visits send out invoices for fee's that are covered by medicare, the problem is the invoices do not mention anywhere that the balance is not owed and will be paid be medicare, they send these invoices threatening legal action to elderly people who do not understand that medicare pay these bills, i have included the last one my elderly father received you will see the threats for legal action against him and not once not anywhere suggesting that medicare will pay it , dont let there deceptive invoices fool you or your loved ones into forking out money to this health service, its there invoice system and failure to clearly inform customers on invoices that the money isn't owed by them leading to people panicking believing that are in big debt when they arn't, i wonder how many people just pay these invoices and i wonder why this health service has to issue such deceptive invoices unless it to try and grab money for uninformed people , it says "if not paid in 7 days they will commence legal action" you dont get much more deceptive then this
My Mother had a serious fall in Campbell St severe bruising and swelling to her face the Emergency Staff were absolutely amazing. Kind, Caring and very though would not let her leave until they were sure she was 100% ok. I am very grateful Daughter Many Thanks.
Most worried in visit to Emergency Department with my son who is unwell. Covid protocol should be stricter, Security/ Screening Officer was polite handed the clipboard to person/s before me for them to fill in details then handed to me I would not touch it as List of people had already handled it, cross contamination highly likely for everyone entering Emergency Department. Also Wheelchair used by patient before me returned to place near door without being sanitized. My son could not be seen as no isolation room available. He had to wait outside. With all of the above I decided the safest thing was to take him back home and hope for the best. Health workers and patients are at risk. Health Workers inside the hospital need protection as well. This isn't meant as a blame game but perhaps a chance to look at this area and put best practice into place SHDH deserves the best.
Passing through lovely Swan Hill on a road trip when my husband needed treatment for a reasonably minor but very uncomfortable issue with the skin on his back. He visited their emergency unit in the morning and was assessed, operated on and out by 5pm same day. Lovely, caring staff ... very grateful for their care and attention.
Good evening, I had occasion this morning to call an ambulance for my very unwell 89 year old mother, on the advice of ambulance drivers,I agreed they transport my mother to A@E. I am really angry that I was lied to, and had a call to come and pick Mum up there had been blood tests done and these were all fine, I was told she had eaten and had a drink and there was no issue of the severe diarrhea that she had been experiencing at home. I am angry that I was lied to, when I got Mum into the car I said what did you eat? The reply was, I have not had a drink or anything to eat, Mum is not silly she would know she had not had a drink or something to eat. As you might appreciate I am so angry I was lied to.On arriving home after drinking half a bottle of Fanta, the diarrhoea started again, this continued for 3 more times through the afternoon, we had a cheese sandwich and a cup of tea for dinner, this was her choice because it was bland, again she was racing to the toilet.I am happy she was given fluids and she feels better, but we are heading back to the dehydration issue if this toileting continues.I understand the department was very busy, but because of distance issues and no medical staff on duty till after new year in Moulamein I feel she should have been kept in, at least overnight, and to keep insisting I come and get her and how far away was I really upset me. I was not out having coffee, I was debugging her room and washing her bed linen for obvious reasons. I hope you appreciate my disappointment. How many of the elderly pass away staying at home?
Being a family member of a patient that has been admitted for server abdominal pain. I feel very disappointed in the health service that is provided for her. She has been made to feel intimidated by the nurse's there. She is to afraid to use her call bell and ask for pain relief as they are quite nasty. But what else could you expect from the swanhill hospital. One of the reasons why I moved away. Swanhill you need to lift your game.
