My friend Sujesh and I have been coming to Swadesh in Glen Huntly for 2 years now. It is easily our favourite place to go for Indian cuisine. The food is always of a high quality, with a huge range to choose from at reasonable prices, as well as excellent and friendly service from the staff. Highly recommended!
Best restaurant in Melbourne. There starters are authentic and very tasty. I Never disappointed with the food . Must try dishes are chicken85, crispy fish, mutton ghee roast and any other indoChinese dishes. Good for family and friends to enjoy variety dishes and hangout for dinners..
Ordered food from the restaurant when just started to eat found hair in the curry. Couldn’t eat anything after that. Anyone can see the hair on the spoon.
Is it look like pakoda???? This is the worst food i have ever ordered. Total waste of money. This is the worst pakoda i have ever taste.
-Much costly for the quantity of food they serve. -They change the serving size of biriyani bowls although they are small ,based on the chef mood or whatever... Ikr it's too gross. -They charge for everything raita/gravy/couple of onion pieces on top of it their size of the raita/gravy bowl is so tiny that it is comparable to a regular spoon size. - only choose this restaurant if there is no other option.
Somethings changed with the chicken dum biryani. It is not the same anymore. Not sure if it is the chef or the ingredients. Disappointed to the core. I specifically asked for a spicy biryani but it came out mild with heaps of white rice and the chicken too just boiled and no spices infused in the chicken or rice.
This has become our regular place to order Biryani after moving to Carnegie. I do notice slight variation every time we order the same dish, that generally is not the case with good restaurants. Overall we like it and would keep visiting. Btw, we tried fried fish I think amritasri fish on menu, was ok average types.
First time trying Swadesh, ordered takeaway. The papdi chat which was nice, however they used crackers in this dish, first time seeing an Indian restaurant serve papdi chat with crackers. I also ordered a chicken curry $16 and upon opening the box, it was mostly gravy and only 5 pieces of chicken cut into very small piece, not worth $16.
Worst experience. I ordered the meal which was Masala Dosa combo and one samosa through menulog. I received the order but they forgot to put the main item which was masala dosa itself. Hahah. I called the resturant and they started arguing that they put it. So there could be three option. Either the driver stole my dosa, resturant didn't put the dosa and they are lying or a phantom came and ate the dosa without sambar. I hardly believe that driver will stole it. And I dont believe in phantoms. So I am going for an option that resturant is lying. I could have given negative star if it was possible.
Stay away from this place at all time and all cost. They have the worst customer service! Was sitting on the table for long time but nobody waited on us. Finally went to the reception to ask for the menu & the waitress pointed to the pile of menus. Again was waiting for long time on the table and nobody came to take our order. Finally left the place with disappointment and without any food.
