Sensational Sushi Family Feast at Sushi Train, Gold Coast We had a delicious sushi feast for our dinner at Sushi Train Japanese restaurant in Surfers Paradise. Everything was freshly made & very tasty. We had a lovely variety of sushi & doubled up on a few of these dishes too. We really enjoyed this family dinner on our Gold Coast holiday. If you are in Surfers Paradise & love sushi, then definitely check out Sushi Train restaurant.
Low quality ingredients, not many menu items, missing popular menu items, food rotation needs better management. I've eaten at sushi trains all over Australia. This is not the usual standard and the first time I didn't enjoy my food. We are a little and then left.
Food is decent, and the place is quaint. My rating is a 3/5 as I found everyone was ordering off the menu so the sushi train was mostly empty the whole time with the same few flavours. I only had two flavours the whole time as new flavours didn’t come out. It’s perfectly fine, but I’ve had better.
I have been very loyal to sushi train for the past six years in another state. I am Happy to say that this is now my local. The first time I went there, I wasn’t impressed by the server. However my need for sushi won out. And I went again and was pleasantly surprised by friendly and helpful service. They don’t mind at all, substitutions. And as I get minus “this” and plus three “that’s”. And it came out just the same as I’ve always received back in Sydney. I am happy as a dog barking, a bird flying or a pig playing in mud. Food is great, fresh and highly recommend eating here or having it delivered
Typical standard for Sushi Train in terms of quality and price, which is cheaper and better than some others around Surfers Paradise. However, there is less variety on the train, so better to order from the menu. Food: 6.0/10 Service: 6.5/10 Price: $$ out of 5 stars
Nice little shop closer to some of the hotels and family places which was convenient instead of having go go to the main area to eat. Small place but felt understaffed especially at lunch time when people all came together. Staff were however very polite and nice. Food was decent so no complaints. If I was in the area and needed food I would probably pop by again.
The sushi is surprisingly fresh and delicious. Was so busy eating so didn’t take any photos haha
Though the staff is friendly, the service is extremely slow. Halfway through waiting they said they were out of rice, but for a Japanese restaurant that mainly uses rice in nearly all their dishes, it is concerning that they only use a tiny rice cooker. Moreover, the online ordering is hard to navigate. We orders a few dishes and though it went through, we received no further confirmation of our order. Overall, the food was mediocre and have no diversity. There are better choices out there.
The food here was amazing and this was the first place I went to when I arrived at the Gold Coast. I especially recommend trying the chicken karage rice bowl it was delicious. I don’t recommend the udon wasn’t terrible but wasn’t amazing either. All the nigiri and sushi rolls were great as well. The only thing I would say is that the gyozas we ordered came from the freezer and did not taste very nice. But overall it is a great sushi place and has a lot of variety in terms of what was in the sushi.
More expensive than other sushi trains. Definitely noticed a difference in the size of the rolls. They were much smaller. And your sushi train loyalty card doesn't work here. Probably wouldn't go back to this one.Food: 2/5
