Cozy store with sushi train and some face-to-face seating at the other side of the restaurant. Ran by Chinese speaking boss who can converse in English too. Food quality: + Good quality and taste. Sushi are at room temperature which is ideal for consumption. + Udon is above average. Food portion / Price: + Very affordable prices with a rice bowl / bento at $5.9, each sushi plate at $3.5, hot meal of don / rice or udon noodles from $5.9-15. Payment: Cards or cash accepted.
Sushi rice breaks apart so easily Nothing on the belt going around for dinner, it's empty all the time. Been here a few times as I live across the road. Nothing in the ship range, no ikura or urchin etc sashimi wise just salmon ,tuna, kingfish . Very small menu Price is average , staff looks friendly
Not exactly traditional Japanese but good food none the less. If you like sashimi I would recommend the salmon sashimi don. I’m pretty sure they use all the leftover nuggets of salmon that are not the right shape for sushi or sashimi, so it’s high quality but at a really discounted price.
Cheap sushi and decent service. Fried stuff can taste like burnt/old oil sometimes so better avoid it. And you can order fresh sushi on the tablet or just choose from the train. Staff is friendly. Parking: Ground level park can be busy but there is a basement park and plenty of parking on either Geelong or Manilla st beside it.
Quiet and un-abrasive atmosphere. Menu selection is modern and easy. Selection is decent and location is perfect for a stop off for something better than the usual junk food option. Always go back when I’m in the area.Recommended dishesPrawn Tempura, Karaage Chicken, California Roll, Mixed Tempura
Sushi Kiyo is a nice place to go on a Friday night. The decoration of the place is welcoming and chic. The place welcomes different groups of people like families, couples and friends. The platters are all traditional with half of the menu costing $3.50. Some other items like fusion rolls and tempuras are $7-$15. The quality is acceptable but not super fresh. The tempura we ordered was 0/5. It was the worst tempura I’ve seen and tasted in my life. There was no batter, undercooked vegetables and a pointless salad. The winner of our small tasting session was the Double Shrimp Roll. It packed a lot of flavor and the portions were generous. Ordering through the touchscreens is messy and you can’t keep control of how much money you have spent. This is a major negative of this restaurant. Also, the staff and service was lousy. You don’t receive a welcome when you arrive and only interact with staff member when you pay. Finally, this restaurant fails to hit the mark in service and food quality. But it’s prices and accessibility makes it an option for neighbours to have a quick sushi bite.
Funny little place which sometimes has a lacklustre energy but the food is great and well priced. Incredibly generous portions of sashimi for the price kept me coming backFood: 5/5
Really good sushi and lots of tasty vegetarian options. Also always super fast when you order take away. Definitely recommend to anyone in the neighbourhood.
Personally it would be the best restaurant I’ve ever been to I’m not advertising or anything, but I would definitely recommend it, it has the best sushi which is fresh and tasty, I would say it’s best restaurant in Queensland!
Sushi is delicious could be fresher but would not recommend the beef stir fry noodles - was very oily, not flavourful and the beef was so tough and fatty also had one piece of broccoli
