Turned up for breakfast. Didn’t know how the place was ran so after waiting for a few minutes we managed to get a hold of a waitress to ask for a seat.nWe sat down only to get back up to find where the menus were kept as there’s no table service at all. After deciding on what we wanted to eat I had to work my way through their minefield of an iPad ordering system that is similar to what staff use to order for customers on but now I’m expected to know how their same system works?nAnyhow managed to order then the drinks came out. The waiter was spilling the tea I ordered on the tray before I got to drink it. The food came out shortly after. We ordered the big breakfast one with hollandaise and the other with garlic aoli both were charged as extra to the already $28 meal both sauces were definitely not home made but were store bought and slapped in a dish. The mushrooms were 100% canned mushrooms that had been attempted to be fried so they were disgusting. The rest of the food was ok besides being a bit cold. Two of the pork sausages weren’t even cooked correctly but left raw inside.nnProbably wouldn’t got back there again considering it was a costly $78 for 2 drinks and 2 meals.
Good clean restaurant with a nice relaxing atmosphere. Perfect to eat after a good swim.nFood is a bit pricey but overall it was decent.nMy pho didn't come with mint, sprouts or lemon you might need to ask for them which is a bit unfortunate.nThe barramundi was delicious however.
Went for breakfast. Food was pretty good. Fast and friendly service. Reasonably priced. Would go again and try the lunch items.nNot far from beach for a beautiful walk after eating too much food
My family and I are relatively new to WA we are from Melbourne. We have spent the past 6 months exploring our local cafes and restaurants and this establishment has certainly stood out. Where most places we have visited have delivered average to below par food for the price, Surfing Lizard has been fairly priced for the food on offer. The produce is clearly well sourced and fresh, the customer service was exceptional and the meals delicious. Whilst the menu may not be huge, there's still a great variety to choose from and a decent kids menu to boot. I also recommend their in house selection of drinks as they were also fresh and tasty. It's safe to say that my family and I have found our local brunch favourite. Unfortunately no photos this visit as we devoured it all before I had a chance to write this review. Photos to follow next visit.nnAlso, the atmosphere was good, there's a great kids area and the four legged family members are catered to too. After a delicious meal, the playground and beach are a stone throw away. Highly recommended.nnADDITIONAL FOLLOW UP REVIEW:nMy family and I came back for brunch again today. The food has been consistently good so far. I noticed there are a few reviews that question the pricing, personally I feel the pricing is fair, especially considering the produce they use is fresh and good quality. I have walked away today with one gripe though, they have changed their payment method, we didn't deal with a person, instead made our order via a tablet at the counter, it took longer and also took away from the experience. The wait staff were still excellent though. I've added a couple of photos this time.
Came here by chance for lunch and so glad we did! Lots of parking and seating. We ordered chorizo carbonara ramen and mum's chicken pho noodle. The noodle and ramen are a fusion type of food so they are different and we absolutely love it! The ramen's spiciness hits the spot if you can't take spicy, don't order this and I love how they have lots of mushroom and wood ear in it. I could smell and taste the chicken cooked in asian herbs in the pho noodle's broth and it tastes so good. Generous portion of chicken breast as well. So definitely recommend this place and will be back again!
