I really should have walked out the moment I walked in. One store clerk took ages to get off his phone and others avoided us - mind you, it was not busy nor were they serving anyone else. The clerk on his phone eventually served us and rolled his eyes as he walked over. My friend and I were looking for wipers for my car and asked for his assistance. He showed us the computer and how to use it in a condescending manner, when eventually he had to look it up on his work computer as it was a specific item. So basically he was rude when he had no option but to assist us anyway pretty sure that is part of the job. When purchasing the wipers, I asked if someone could help with installing them. The clerk said that they do not offer this. I have never had an issue with any Super Cheap Autos and they have always offered to install them. It is a shame that someone who is more interested in their best friend their phone than fulfilling their duty as a store clerk. Rude attitude to say the least. I understand he is probably not in the “career” path that he envisioned for himself, but there is no reason to be so unpleasant in a customer service job. His response to installation, “it’s easy just read the instructions.” Maybe he should smile more. It was not easy, and upon my return to VICTORIA, I went to another super cheap auto and found out I was sold the wrong wipers - and guess what - they OFFERED to install them. When I flagged that the place I bought them from said they don’t offer installation, he informed me that ALL super cheap autos need to offer installation. When he saw the receipt again, and saw the location, he just laughed to himself. You seem to have a reputation Ashfield Super Cheap Auto. I made the 9 hour drive home safely in pouring rain - in case you were wondering.
My friend had driven from Melbourne in terrible weather with a completely broken windscreen wiper. I suggested super cheap for a replacement as I have had no issues in the past. We asked for assistance selecting wiper blades and installation. Purchased blades and were told by the salesman that they don’t do installation at any super cheap auto stores anymore. I have fitted them in the past, and thought we could figure it out so took them home to install. After much fiddling - I discovered that we had been sold the completely wrong blades. My friend then had to drive back to Melbourne that evening unable to see properly in awful weather as the store had closed. She went into a super cheap auto in Melbourne the following day, only to find out that yes, they do install the blades and also that she had been provided blades for the complete wrong model of vehicle - despite her providing all of her vehicle information. My issue is not to do with being provided with the wrong blades, people make mistakes. My issue is to do with the rudeness of the staff, and complete disregard for the road safety of another person in clearly terribly wet weather - lying about install. If we had have known it was just this guy not wanting to do it, we would have happily gone to another store. Thankfully, another store was only too happy to help, albeit in another state.
Amazing service. I had Stuart look after me. He was excellent at listening to my questions and then interpret that into what I actually need. I had several queries and he sorted them all out for me. What a champ. As a woman who has limited car knowledge I really appreciated his calm and kind approach.
Would have rated as 0 star if there is an option. Super bad service I haven't experienced for a long time. There were 2 trolleies left in the store, 1 is missing a tyre and missing parts, the other has a flat tyre. I asked whether they can pump the flat tyre as I am buying the trolley as new not a second hand. The answer is that there is a servo station at the corner. Great answer! Finally he agreed to swap the tyre from the other trolley which missing a tyre and parts with hesitance. I am not fussy about a flat tyre but it could be fault and will cost me more to come back for a replacement than the cost of the trolley. Lucky I tried to put the wheels together as I found out the trolley is faulty before I leave. Well guess what, I will not come back again.
Thank you to the staff that served me 45 mins before closing, but a MASSIVE thank you to Dean who taught me how to change wiper blades over the phone and a visual on youtube, you were so patient, even though it had past store closing time. With your guidance I went to the car and did it in less than 5 minutes.
Friendly staffs make us feel welcome. Knowledge team help us to solve our wipers problem. Sure will be back there more often.
Called try to book a windscreen wiper replacement service at Ashfield store, the person who answered the phone was polite and professional tho they can’t provide the service due to the construction site near the store. Will definitely come back.
Love this shop. Heaps of stuff and specials. Friendly staff. Beware you can loose time browsing, do not take wifey
Grabbed an extension cord and polish for our Model Y.
Pretty nice store. It’s not hard to find your things, and stuffs are very helpful.
