Absolutely top notch service. From the host caringly putting us on a wait list then following through, to our waitresses who were doing ten things at once while keeping a smile with a mask on - just brilliant and most appreciated in these covid times. Our dishes as pictured were as delicious as it looks, with the prawns and the dank roll being stand outs. The only minor flaw was the after thought "sweet burger" desert, which was a miss. I wouldn't re-order it. In all, excellent place with an amazing pumping, rowdy vibe. Great place to eat with friends.
Excellent service!! Delicious, feast for eyes as well for your taste buds!! It was a very special occasion and we couldn't be more happier with our choice to celebrate at Sunset Sabi! Cocktails are a must while at SS!! Top notch service!!
Great vibes, delicious food, lovely service. Everything is perfect to enjoy a nice diner with friends. We were seated at the bar it was so intimate and very nice. Fancy and tasty Japanese food. There is a terrace in summer.
Sunset Sabi is one of the best Japanese restraints in manly with every dish being cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the Double Double Gyoza which is basically a cross between Japanese food and American. The service was fast and the staff were friendly as well as the restraint having a wonderful rustic/industrial theme to it.
We didn’t really have a good experience here and while I feel bad leaving a 2 star review, it’s an honest one. Of the 3 waitresses on the Wednesday night, 2 wore tops with baggy sleeves. One of them consistently reached over when placing dishes down, brushing her sleeve over the sushi rolls that were already by our table. It was truly gross and a reflection of poor training to allow inappropriate attire and for the the waitress to not walk around the table. The food & cocktails were not bad but nothing special. Overall not a place we would come back to.
Thanks guys, lovely place to be and no complaint for service and food , one point lost was music not fit environment. Please take my advise . Both waiters are nice and kind , will introduce your food and how to eat it . Time controls and top up on time . Definitely deserve tips. This place is very busy please give them time to pick up your call and back to you if you wait in front door . Dinner open 16:00pm-22:00pm, please make reservation if possible . NO BYO It is a Modern JP food place ,when you first walk in this place you feel like “hold one . This is not a sushi place .” Sabi mix OZ soul in JP food . Relax but everything still keep details. I had four dish by myself , can’t stop and absolutely love most of them . Must try item is opening with double double gyoza , trust me this is the gyoza you never had in your life .made with Waugh beef cheese ,Mac sauce and veggies. First bit with full mouth of Wagyu , but you still have this Mac and cheese favorite. What a companion!!! I always order Karage in JP restaurants, this dish is not easy , sabi did 7/10 , crisp and chicken is not too dry . Favor was just ok , keep your double double gyoza sauce for this karage ,You will thank me late . Main dish I had is dank , seafood sushi roll, fresh but not fishy . You also can request Nigir . Last one I had is chicken yakitori , not recommend, it is not traditional yakitori , more like chicken meat ball ,I am not a fan with this one . All in all , lovely place to be , if you want to try all dish in one go , ask your friends of four , come together with you and try set menu .
Lets start off with if i could give this place a 10 star out of 5 i would. The food and service is top notch. Don't get me started on the cocktails and sake. WOW! Our group of 4 pretty much ordered the whole menu as we like to eat with our eyes but surprisingly we finished everything along with 4-5 drinks each. Ruby and the other server with the blue jump suit/overalls were such a vibe. Compliments to the chefs and bartenders. Atmosphere and vibe 10 out of 10. Would be happy to travel an hour to enjoy this place again.
Absolutely amazing! Honestly one of the best experiences I have had out in Manly. The service and food absolutely mind blowing. We will be back! Thank you to the amazing HOST, WAITSTAFF and CHEFS. You made us feel like rock stars and backed it up with the most amazing food and drinks. Honestly do not miss this venue you will not be sorry. Thanks again guys you are VERY good at what you do!!
Food: + Loved the chicken ball skewers -rice at the sushi was overcooked. Serious miss for a Japanese restaurant Cucumber salad was too sour and too small for 18$ Service: + The guy who got the order and served us he was a legend. I don't remember his name but it's the blond slim guy. He was friendly and he made great recommendations. - appetizer came last. For last dish, they served us fried chicken which wasn't the best finish. Atmosphere: Very noisy. More like a pub than a quiet relaxed restaurant. cost: it was just my partner and I, we ordered 5 dishes and 1 drinkenough for 2 and we payed 122$.
Gluten Free beware. Our food was good. Actually the don sushi was fresh and so good we ordered another gluten free don. It came out an hour later then we were about to cancel it and it finally arrived. My girlfriend is very allergic to gluten and this time it was not. When calling the manager over he wasn't very experienced. Just said sorry I'll take it off the bill. After first waiting sooooo Long then it being not gluten free I'd of expected more than just taking the roll off the bill. No free drink offered no bill reduction apart from the one we hardly ate These days service is so bad. When I was in restaurants we would of made sure that customer walked out happy and more than likely wiped the bill or done more than just say sorry. Mistakes happen but the lack of empathy or managerial skills is why we will not be back. This was our 3rd visit but definitely the last. What's worse is we had to leave because she was having a reaction and still just blank faces Dietary restrictions: Gluten free but wasn't gluten free Made my girlfriend very sick
