Story

The Courier Mail Piazza is a multi-purpose venue located in the South Bank Parklands in Brisbane, Australia. The Courier-Mail has been the naming rights sponsor of the venue since 2013, prior to which it was known as the Suncorp Piazza and South Bank Piazza.The amphitheatre is covered by a sound shell (designed by architectural firm Ark Atelier), and features a 5x4m suspended screen. The amphitheatre seating of the venue has a capacity of 2,158 people, while the floor space (which has an area of 513m2) can accommodate either 750 people standing, or 532 people seated in temporary seating.The venue is close to the South Brisbane railway station and the Cultural Centre Busway Station.

Experienced the pop up BOQ Festival Garden during Brisbane Festival and was blown away by the two massive installations housed directly outside the Piazza. Staged music, beer garden, completely interactive and family friendly. Accessible venue with diverse offerings right on the river.
We went to the South Bank Piazza to watch the fights and it really was an amazing venue with a great atmosphere
Haven't ever come across a promenade area as entertaining as this for kids and adults. Visited South Bank about 15 times in a 3 month period and I suspect that we won't reduce our visits too dramatically in the near future.
Great location, but parking is expensive and be prepared to wait at least 15 mins to get out of the Piazza.
This is the place you can spend days with your family. Great park, great facilities, wonderful eateries and restaurants, perfect family holiday destination.

South Bank Piazza is a great entertainment venue in the middle of the Parklands. Coincidentally, it has been earmarked as a venue for the 3+3 basketball in the BRISBANE 2032 SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES. Many free concerts, some paid ones. Good size, around 3000 seats, and excellent viewing from most seats. It’s location makes it a great place to eat/drink before or after a performance is dead easy!
