Sydney's Best Restaurant for Authentic Burmese Cuisine.

Story

This sleepy suburban restaurant sees our under $30 budget and laughs at it. Serves are generous and the priciest dish is $10. The best bit? The authentic food packs a punch. The authentic Burmese food packs a serious flavour punch.

The food was delicious and authentic. The service was friendly albeit little chaotic due to the crowd. Unfortunately we waited two hours on our visit as it became apparent we wouldn't be able to get a table we chose the takeaway option. It was probably their busiet lunch day on a Sunday. Could do with a few more wait staff and perhaps double their kitchen capacity. So come on a less busy week day I think might be best.
My first time trying Burmese food and I absolutely loved it! The tea leaf salad is so damn good, a must order. It's such a comforting food choice. The restaurant itself is nothing fancy, but the service and food makes up for it. I don't really see a lot of Burmese restaurants around so the 50 minutes drive was worth it.
Very homely vibe with Lovley interiors. The food mild and wholesome, and vetted 'authentic' by my Burmese friend. Make sure you get a nice balance between rice, noodles, soup and entrees :
I have no idea what to expect but it turn out to be so tasty. The dry curry chicken noodles is not the curry you are expecting. Is like chicken stew next level. The prawn and onions fritters is so good and the sauce is really something to die for.
Fantastic food. My great grandmother is from Burma. She used to cook very special chicken curry when I was an infant. I just went back to my childhood when I ate the chicken rural curry with rice here today.
Amazing food, will definitely be going back. Absolutely loved the teal leaf salad and barramundi curry! Good service too.
Always a nice meal at Sun's. Very friendly staff. Service can be slow on Saturday nights. But given the food is yummy and cheap, I don't mind the wait. Highly recommend their fried Pan Tay noodles and coconut noodles salad.
Had a wonderful burmese dinner with friends and authentic dishes, very friendly staff and easy to find parking spots outside shop
I can't give this place enough praise. So much flavor in so many of the dishes. The Barramundi dish is to die for and perfectly balanced despite the delicate flavors. The dry noodle dish is equally as good and balanced we have without liver and intestines but still packed full of flavor. The young girl at the front and looking after the tables does an amazing job! Prices are super cheap for the portion size and quality of the food Parking: There's parking out the front or on the street to walk 20-30 seconds. Never an issue to park
We didn't have a reservation. We went in for Saturday lunch. The staff were super friendly. We ordered the food. It was a long wait between the order and when we received our food, 40 minutes. But it was written on the menu that they were short staffed and if we could bear with them. The food was delicious! The only thing was there was a lot of palm oil in the food, understandable it is traditionally made like that. Would come back again because the food was delicious!
