We were very fortunate and were the only people to stay at the campsite over night so we had the whole place to ourselves! The park ranger came to greet us and have a chat when we arrived, very nice friendly guy! The campsite is a few metres away from the beautiful beach, the toilet facilities were spotless and the campsite itself was very nice and small with designated parking bays. Added bonus of a group of ducklings coming to visit us in the morning, we will definitely stay again!!
Beautiful Small Camping spot and Beach.
Just awesome! What a beautiful spot for a swim, picnic and walking. We did 6 of the 20 orienteering flags and enjoyed the beautiful scenery all around.
Excellent picnic spot... great summer getaway with family / kids friendly beach at hand for swim, SUP, kayak... good walks, camping facilities and awesome bay views. Best part it's 30-40 minutes from Auckland City. Highly recommend a visit on your holiday break.
This place is really nice and quiet. We drove there to relax and enjoy the sun and though there is a camping spot and the beach is open for visitors it was so calm, nearly nobody was there. It's definitely worth a visit for a beach day.
We came to spend our last summer on this beach, it was drizzling but many trees in the area suitable for day camp...very nice, quiet, calm seas and clean toilets..during low tide, we walked all the way to the big rock and my 6 year old enjoyed it so much..it was a good walk..
Easy 40 minute drive from Albany. Parked right next to the beach. Toilets were long drop but pretty nice. Easy enough to drag the kayaks down the bank to the back. Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars were because of the mozzies at night.
A slice of heaven this is. Went there with a group with kayaks and paddle boards. Easy access lots of car spaces and not many people at all. Went kayaking to some of the islands, what a day it was! The beach is great for kids as well as it’s not rough, and has some nice long walks as well. Not to be missed for a quick getaway or overnight camping in the campgrounds. Pick of lagoon bay across Sullivan bay.
Lovely beach! Our new 'go to'. Water very clear and low tide is still quite deep enough to swim in. Good spot for kinas too.
Great beach which is safe for children to swim and fishing can be done at the south end off the rocks. Great Camping facilities, good parking and not too far from Auckland city.
