Took my son here for a swim we just love it We take the train so I don't have to worry about traffic, petrol or parking. Plus it's only 50c for a train fare these days. The pool is always busy it would be good if they had more seating available. I always take our own umbrella incase we make our own spot at least we're shaded.
Streets Beach is a stunning, man-made oasis in South Bank that offers a tropical escape against the Brisbane skyline. It is highly recommended for its pristine white sand, free entry, and family-friendly lagoon patrolled by lifeguards.nThe HighlightsnUnique Setting: Enjoy a crystal-clear lagoon surrounded by sub-tropical plants while overlooking the CBD.nFamily Friendly: Features shallow entry points and the adjacent Aquativity water park for kids.nConvenience: Located steps away from world-class dining, public transport, and free BBQ facilities.nAccessibility: Entry is entirely free and includes access to showers, lockers, and changing rooms.nQuick TipsnCrowds: It gets very busy on weekends and summer holidays; visit on weekday mornings for a quieter experience.nSun Safety: There is limited shade on the actual sand, so bring plenty of sunscreen or arrive early to snag a spot under the trees.
Does it get any better than this???? This is not some private 5 star resort, this is a PUBLIC POOL!!!nNormally, I'd provide a detailled description of the facility, but you just have to go there yourself! It's at walking distance from the CBD on the other side of the river, there are tons of bars and restaurants all over the area even a Woolies wuuhuu.nWe went here to celebrate NYE and the view can't be any better and enough room for everyone.nOf course, I must mention 1 thing that could be improved: some more shaded places to relax please.nWhat a wonderful city!
Streets Beach at South Bank is one of Brisbane’s most iconic spots and a fantastic place to relax right in the heart of the city. What makes it so unique is the combination of a sparkling man-made lagoon with sandy beaches, surrounded by lush greenery and views of the Brisbane River and skyline. It truly feels like an urban oasis.nnThe beach itself is beautifully maintained, with lifeguards on duty, making it safe for families with children. The shallow areas are perfect for kids to splash around, while adults can enjoy a refreshing swim or simply lounge on the sand. At night, the area lights up and feels just as magical.nnAnother highlight is the location—being at South Bank means you’re only steps away from great restaurants, cafés, shops, and cultural attractions like QPAC and GOMA. Whether you want to grab an ice cream, have a picnic, or enjoy a riverside stroll, everything is close by.nnClean amenities, plenty of shaded seating, and easy access by public transport make it even more convenient. Streets Beach is not just for tourists but a place locals love too. It’s the perfect blend of relaxation and city life.
Very much a below par experience here. Perfectly located overlooking Streets Beach and a prime tourist location in Brisbane.nWe were looking forward to ordering a Byrons Bay draft beer but they were sold out ... So had to order our second choice, Noosa Heads, which was good but not a local drink.nNext, no WiFi. Why??nWe ordered the drinks and food on the QR code on the table and can honestly say, I have never known such a long wait to get a drink. They weren't even busy. So can't imagine what it must be like when busy!nOrdered the calamari and garlic prawn linguine, allegedly with parsley and chives. The parsley was sparse and limp and you'd need a microscope to see any chives. The linguine was swimming in fat and really cool. Would not have eaten but I was very hungry so managed to.nIt was a great location and we were happy to pay a premium price for where we were but will not return.nWe were given a warm welcome from a friendly guy and saw him again briefly at the end but that was the best bit of this visit.
