Such an incredible public space! Our family just loved spending time down here relaxing in the water. There is lots of grass and tables for family relaxing, plus plenty of parking etc surrounding this space.nnThere is also a wonder view back over Magnetic Island as well.nnHonestly such a great facility!
Great Rockpool on the edge of the sea, right at the end of the Strand. The water isn’t particularly clear and the depth varies so you need to be mindful if you are not a good swimmer. But it’s a good size with great views of the ocean and out to Magnetic Island. There is lovely lawn to laze about on and areas to bbq. There are one or two cafes to get food from but they are not always open. The nearby Fort is only a few minutes walk up the cliff too.
A bit of a weird combo feeling cement and mud beneath my feet but I did not venture far. Hope it was a one off thing.nnPlenty of wide open space beside the pool, was great to see a group playing touch rugby and showing some nice skills. There's plenty play areas for kids and lots of places for sun bathing and relaxing.
This is a wonderful facility surrounded by green lawns and a coffee shop. Sea water must be pumped in it seems to be kept fresh and shallow enough to stand up anywhere and deep enough to swim in, quite safe for children.
The flying fox is amazing fun. The sand is very hard. The kids playground has broken shade cloth. Apart from that it's great.
