Such a beautiful atmosphere around the boat ramp, the water around here are teaming with fish and if your lucky you might get to meet the huge stingrays that come in when the tide starts to rise cleaning the sandy bottom like vacuum cleaners. The ferry travels every two hours from Stony Point pier out to French island and Cowes, the ports Authority are here with a couple of dedicated tug boats to guide in the large ships. Bordering the Ramp carpark is the cutest small caravan park but that's for another post. The sunrises have different colours each day that will mesmerise your senses and if your lucky and catch the blood moon popping up from the east early evening it will fill the sky with its girth and if the night is still you will see the stairs travel to heaven. Don't tell to many people about this place!
Great place to see the Pelicans being fed when local fisherman are in the area! Boat ramp looks very suitable for a range of boats and vehicles, with a reasonable amount of parking. Facilities are located near the train station, and there is parking available free for the Ferry terminal if you get there early enough.
Nice place to pur your boat in the water .
Good parking, good public toilets, a nice spot to park up and rest and look at the views. It does state no overnight parking.
A lack of facilities outside of the caravan park but the ferry looked inticing.
First class 3 lane all weather and tide facility with fish and boat cleaning amenities suitable for boats up to 7 metres excellent parking peak times very busy

If you would like to get really close to the magnificent Pelicans that live here, this is the place to be. They are fascinating to watch & while I wouldn't try to touch them tempting as it is they are not disturbed by you being amongst them. They are more interested in the left overs from the fishermen who gut & clean their catch on the benches. Great set up for the fishermen too. Lovely spot to be & worth taking the time to see these amazing creatures!
