Quite a popular place - there was an ever present queue in the 30 mins we were there on a Saturday morning. Came for the pies based on some recommendations plus the good reviews but I don't think any of the pies we had were all that impressive. Most noteworthy part of the pastry was the flaky tops, and flavour rus wise the lamb vindaloo at least had a bit of punch to it, but the 2 beef ones chunky steak, Wagyu were pretty muted. I found this quite surprising given multiple mentions of flavoursome pies in other reviews, so might give them another try some other time in case I happened to come on an off day.
Great place for a coffee and something to eat on the run. I find it hard to go past their sausage rolls but to be honest it all looks very good. Some fantastic cakes and bread on offer also. Recommend.
If you are looking for one of the best pies in Brisbane look no further than Stone Artisan Bakery at the Rock n Roll fruit barn Greenslopes. Thick rich gravy, tender chunks of meat, crispy pastry....damn..I want one NOW!
As a local, my housemate and I have been loyal to Stone's for many years, coming back particularly for the pies, complements to the butcher next door. Over the years we have noticed some areas for improvement and would love to continue to visit and support local business. We've noticed inconsistencies over time in the quality of the pies, partucularly with the pastry being sometimes under, sometimes over cooked. Notably the service here is not special. Very rarely greeted politely and it seems like they are too busy to keep up or bother with small gestures. We recently came in on a weekend and it had obviously been quite busy - the cabinet was empty of pies and we were promised that more would be ready in 20 minutes, so we we would wait; although it took upwards of 30minutes, we were patiently stood out of the service area, so that people could continue to order their bread, coffees and sweets. Poor timing meant that all of a sudden about 7 customers walk in to line-up, as soon as the freshly baked pies come out - and so most of them get snatched up, particularly the ones we had waited for. You know the old saying, under promise and over deliver. We would love to return to Stones soon and be greeted by service with a smile.
Delicious cakes. Lovely customer service. I forgot to pick up a cake before Christmas and they were still happy for me to retrieve one after the holidays.
The pies here are so good. Perfect and crispy top. Filing was just so packed full of flavour. Will highly recommend
Convenient combination of shops here including this great bread, cake and pastry shop. Pies and sausage rolls are fabulous and you can wash it all down with a coffee.
I purchase a steak bacon cheese pie and the family size caramel vanilla cheese cake. Both were wonderful, and highly recommended
Great pies. Great bread. They have a good range, and the prices are reasonable considering the high quality.
Best pies I've found in Brisbane so far! Little bit pricey, but quality is excellent.
